The wait is over – the bloopers and outtakes from the last 12 months of Not Dressed As Lamb is here!
[Reading time: 6 mins]
This is the post that always, always makes me laugh while I’m writing and compiling it – and I’m not ashamed to admit it. It’s the 8th bloopers post in a row and is as much a part of this blog as the weekly outfit posts are. For at LEAST a month before 1st January I have Keith saying to me, “Nearly time for your bloopers post!”, so there’s no way I could possibly stop doing them even if I wanted to (don’t worry, I don’t).
Plus it seems that you guys rather enjoy them from what you tell me… nothing like a bit of schadenfreude for New Year, eh?!
I think 2019 was a vintage year where outtakes were concerned – though I get the feeling Keith tends to goad me into pulling faces or do things simply so he can get a good bad picture, if that’s not too much of an oxymoron.
It’s a little sad as this will be the last year with bloopers involving Riley, though we have a couple of new ones featuring Suki too, so both of my fluffballs make an appearance. And, as always, for each outtake I include my attempt at an explanation for what on earth I’m doing/what is happening in each shot. Though to be fair, for most I have no explanation whatsoever.
Not forgetting – this is your ‘Heavy On The Photos Post’ warning! (It HAS to be photo-heavy though, amirite?)
It’s kind of the last day of Christmas as many people will be returning to work tomorrow (at least in the UK), so I hope these brighten your day and show that fashion bloggers can be some of the most inelegant creatures out there.
Well, at least THIS one is…
WHICH WAS YOUR FAVOURITE OUTTAKE? TELL ME IN THE COMMENTS (AND HERE’S WISHING YOU A VERY HAPPY 2020)!
My 2019 fashion blogger bloopers and outtakes
1. The one where I had a hissy fit about something in my eye
I think I was frantically waving at Keith to say Stop shooting while I sort my eye out, but of course he didn’t, did he… Original post >>
2. The one where Riley deserved an ear rub
I’m so glad Riley makes an appearance. His wandering-right-in-front-of-the-camera was legendary. Original post >>
3. The one where the wind nearly knocked me off my feet
EVERY bloopers post needs at least one wind outtake, and this is a corker. I actually remember Keith laughing as soon as he took the shot, knowing it was one for 1st January the following year. Original post >>
4. The one where I just couldn’t cope with the cold
I think I was just DONE with the (very minimal) snow and low temperatures, and probably regretting my decision not to wear gloves for the shoot. Original post >>
5. The one where I was seeing triple
Yep, by this time the cold had clearly affected my brain. Original post >>
6. The one where I tried superhero-style powerwalking
These poses nearly always happen when Keith is taking AGES to adjust the camera settings and I start to get bored. Original post >>
7. The one where Riley stood right in front of the camera lens
This one needs some context: Keith goes to take a low, close-up shot and of course Riley ‘does a Riley’ by standing RIGHT in front of the camera. You can just about make out his black and white fur, bless our gorgeous boy. Original post >>
8. The one where my eyelids stuck together
Now THAT’S a flattering face. Original post >>
9. The one where I could feel a hair in my mouth
OMG isn’t a hair in your mouth – that you can’t get out – just the worst?! Original post >>
10. The one where I acted very childishly in Prague
Not sure why I felt the need to stick my finger up my nose here… Original post >>
11. The one where I failed at pulling an Instagram-worthy duckface
This is an obligatory outtake every year, the inadvertent duckface attempt. Original post >>
12. The one where I thought standing like Mary Poppins was a good idea
I think I’d not long seen Mary Poppins Returns at the cinema, so this pose was inevitable. Don’t remember her doing the hands though. Original post >>
13. The one where I wondered how long till the sun would go back behind the clouds
I do a LOT of gazing upwards on days where we have sunny intervals – trying to get consistent light is so difficult. Do we shoot in all sun? Or all shade? Which will we have most of?! Aaaargh so many decisions! Original post >>
14. The one where I tried dynamic rainy day poses
Not actually that dynamic – it looks like my feet had stuck to the ground and I was having a long think about it. Original post >>
15. The one where I realised dynamic rainy day poses weren’t going to work
I probably looked at the shots on the camera screen and thought Oh dear, the dynamic poses aren’t working. What a surprise. Original post >>
16. The one where I thought a car was coming round the corner
I SWORE a car was about to turn into the road we were shooting on… Original post >>
17. The one where I pulled an imaginary worm out of my ear
It’s the only explanation I have for this one. Original post >>
18. The one where I couldn’t change my shoes gracefully
Again, no bloopers post is complete without a shot of me teetering about whilst changing between heels and flats. Original post >>
19. The one where I politely showed Keith what I thought of his suggestions
Let’s just say things can get a bit, er, “tense” when shooting photos with your other half, shall we? Original post >>
20. The one where the fairy lights affected my eyes’ ability to function properly
To be honest this is funny even without the droopy eyes. Original post >>
21. The one where I pulled the classic ‘Putting On Mascara’ face
Something in your eye, putting on mascara… it all results in the same face. Original post >>
22. The one where I thought it might rain
It may have been summer but we had an awful lot of wind and rain to contend with this year. And talking of wind… Original post >>
23. The one where I gracefully showed the wind’s effect on my skirt
I’m sure Keith knew it was windy and that it was making my skirt do weird things, but I thought I’d make absolutely sure he knew – with this graceful pose. Original post >>
24. The one where I checked my reflection in the camera lens
Because yes, that’s what I want to look like in the photos. Original post >>
25. The one where I did my best Popeye impression
I’m just missing the pipe, the muscles and a can of spinach. Original post >>
26. The one where I tried out some new dance moves
It’s summer, I’m in a public place, let’s dance! Original post >>
27. The one where I showed how I felt about the aforementioned dance moves
Now feeling just a little self-conscious about my ability to wow on the dance floor. Original post >>
28. The one where none of my limbs would bend
Or am I just showing off my abnormally long arms? Look, my hands almost touch my knees. Original post >>
29. The one where something about my bag repulsed me
For such a simple bag, there sure was something about it that was annoying me. Original post >>
30. The one where I simply HAD to adjust my pants
I couldn’t wait any longer – my pants had to be rearranged. (And don’t forget I mean the British meaning of pants, not pants as in trousers.) Original post >>
31. The one where I had cotton mouth
Dry mouth! Dry mouth! Send help! Original post >>
32. The one where I had to dash to avoid getting run over
That car was NOT stopping. Don’t I look good while running out the way. Original post >>
33. The one where I called an end to the photoshoot
I admit that occasionally I’ll exhibit diva-like behaviour, and this time I was calling time on the shoot. I was done – no more pictures, please. Original post >>
34. The one where Suki successfully attempted her first photobomb
Look at her sneakily getting into her first photo. Original post >>
35. The one where I insisted it wasn’t Suki’s best angle
Honestly, Keith? Don’t you want to see her front rather than her behind? Original post >>
36. The one where a torrential hailstorm came down mid-shoot
That hail came down SO fast I barely had time to run and take cover. You can see just how much came down – and then the sun came out?! Crazy weather. Original post >>
37. The one where I had fluff in my mouth
Not only did I get covered in melting hail, but then I got fluff from my sweater in my mouth. Bleurgh. Original post >>
38. The one where I should never have worked with husbands or animals
And finally: I thought getting Suki to look at the camera would be hard – I didn’t know getting a good picture of US would be equally challenging… Original post >>
These made me literally LOL—thank you for having such a wonderfully self-deprecating sense of humor. I’m sure we can all see ourselves in many of these!

heehee thanks Cheryl – I’d hate to see them “go to waste”!! 😉
Bahaha you’re a bloody cracker mate! I do so love these blooper posts of yours Catherine but I have to admit to a wee tear when dear Riley popped up…
Author
I know MT, it was a hard one to write about… bless his chilled-out cotton socks. I’ll have to do a doggy bloopers special one year 🙂
LOL I do love these posts – they show just how much of a great sense of humour you have, Catherine!

hehe bless you Suzy – thank you!
The ones with Riley & Suki go straight to my heart. I have my own canine photo bomber. But of the others #6 is my favorite. I’ve had the urge to do power walk poses. LOL! Really though, they are all funny! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you Michelle! I hope there’ll be lots more of Suki in a year’s time, lol 🙂
I enjoy these every year. Hooray for not taking yourself too seriously!
Author
I don’t think my friends and family would let me, Allison…! thank you hon x
Such a funny selection of bloopers and it’s great that you have a sense of humour enough to reveal them! Lovely to see Riley there , and of course Suki slinking in at number 34 is sweet…..23 is excellent but my favourite might be the bewildered elves in the last shot!! Thank you and Happy New Year to you all.
Author
LOL we were concentrating so hard on giving Suki treats and trying to get her to face the camera we forgot to smile!!! 😉
thank you my lovely, and HNY to you too x
Always such a great post! Honestly, I like the Mary Poppins pose! In fact, I may be guilty of doing the Poppins hands on occasion. I think it looks cute. But maybe it doesn’t and I just look foolish! But add in the Poppins feet and you are really onto something! Thanks for the chuckles! Wishing you all the best in the new year, my friend!

My hands do something really weird when I do that with them, Shelbee… they look like flippers?!!! hehe thanks my lovely x
How fun! My favorite is the own which shows the effect of the wind on your skirt.
Author
I think that one HAS to be the best (worst) one, doesn’t it Mireille?? lol x
Now this put a smile on my face, the first day at work of 2020. Happy New Year Catherine.

I’m glad, Greetje!! 😀 thank you, and HNY x
Fantastic. Love how you do realistic yet flattering photos (erm… not these lol) as some stuff on social media is so perfect it’s depressing. And unbelievable…..
Author
Nope, these are most definitely NOT flattering, Ratnamurti…! 😉 My “perfect” pictures are even that perfect, to be honest!
Number 12 Mary Poppins! Hilarious!
Author
hehe thanks Liz!!
Love ’em all, you are such a sport! #23. Seriously. 😀
Happy New Year!!!
Author
Yep, no.23 is a classic! Thanks Rona x
My favorite post of the year, Catherine! #23 is the winner, hands down, but they are a great collection. It’s also a great collection that what we see on blogs and IG are carefully curated, and NOT what people look like all day, every day. They are for inspiration, and even if we dutifully buy every piece, we are NOT going to look exactly like the model, nor SHOULD we! Thanks for the great work, and I’m looking forward to what you come up with for 2020.
Author
Awww thanks so much Mary Katherine – it’s my way of proving that all is NOT what it seems on social media or my blog…!
Brilliant as always Catherine and never fails to make me chuckle! Happy New Year to you Keith and Suki. Looking forward to another year of your blogs xxx
Author
Heehee thanks Kareema! HNY to you too x
Another year and another great set of funny photos, it’s hard to pick a favourite as they are all as equally good in their own way. It’s refreshing to see blog posts like this because it’s always good not to take ourselves to seriously sometimes and it’s a great way to make us all laugh. I can’t wait for next years already.
Author
thanks Kelly – glad it gave you a giggle!! x
Oh every blogger should do these bloopers! I do! Ha ha, love it!
Author
I think they should too, Nancy!! thank you 😉 x
O Catherine, what a great way to start the New Year. You have given me SUCH a laugh with your bloopers, especially the one where you were seeing triple. It is a classic shot & I am still chuckling over it. What a GREAT sense of humour you possess. To be able to laugh at oneself & not be precious about oneself is a great attribute, which not everyone possesses, more’s the pity. You & Keith are the loveliest couple (& he is gorgeous). I love your sense of colour which chimes completely with mine, except for blue which I never wear as it doesn’t suit me. I love the clothes you model in your blogs, specially combinations of strong colours like purple & orange together, so artistic & striking with your red hair, although, funnily enough, my favourite outfit was the one you wore in Prague which was all creams & neutrals.Go figure!
I wish you, Keith & Suki a Happy & Healthy New Year & I look forward to all your blogs to come in 2020.

Fran what a lovely comment to start the New Year with – thank you!! I always thought the bloopers were too good to “waste” by deleting them…!
Thank you for the lovely compliments, you sound like a girl after my own warm colour-loving heart (I don’t wear blue often either). Happy New Year to you and yours, may 2020 be everything you wish for! x
I love these photos. We are all capable of having bad photos taken of us- phew!
I just took some straight-on photos of myself and I’m so crooked: my shoulders slant one way, my hips the other way and my head is angled a third way. I thought I was standing up straight, shoulders down, ” tits up”! Now I can laugh at my photos, knowing everyone has are bad photos . THANK YOU!
Happy New Year!
Author
Ellen I am MORE than capable of having bad photos taken of me…!! Thank you, glad you enjoyed them 😀 x
I always, always love your bloopers Catherine. Another fabulous collection! Happy New Year xxxx
Author
hehe thanks Liz, I can’t believe they always come around so quickly?!!!!
These are gold!!! And amazing how the bloopers don’t take away from your fabulous outfits at all. Happy new year!
Author
oh bless you Bethanne, thank you!! Not sure these photos are the best way to show off the outfits, but there you go! haha 😀
These are funny, but your Popeye impression is the one that made me lol. Happy New Year. Lise
Author
haha thanks Lise! x
Quite a few funny ones. I like the one of Suki’s derriere the most.
Author
heehee thanks Lorna, though even her derriere is pretty perfect 😉
Fabulous Catherine as usual!
Always raises a smile from us here too…
Happy 2020 to you and keith and Suki, may it bring you much joy!
