I’m back after a week off but in an outfit I wore a few weeks ago… confused? I don’t even know what day it is these days!
This may well have to be the quickest write-up ever for an outfit post as I’m spending most of my working day running round after a dog that’s either 1. Totally hyperactive, 2. Zonked out on the sofa, or 3. Demanding All The Attention And Belly Rubs. When no.2 happens I write AS FAST I POSSIBLY CAN in order to squeeze in as much work as possible before our new greyhound Suki starts demanding food, jumping all over my bed or raiding any nook or cranny looking for soft toys.
Yes, we got our girl. The doggy we weren’t sure that we could adopt as we were away for over a week just after we’d met her was reserved for us under special circumstances (normally not more than 24 hours!), and we are head over heels in love with her.
So please excuse typos and other ramblings today, and for missing #iwillwearwhatilike last week, I just wanted to spend time bonding with our new addition!

I’ll feature her more in due course (we shall see what she does when the camera for an outfit shoot comes out), but in the meantime you can see her in my “Suki” stories highlights on my Instagram feed. She’s an absolute DOLL.
So! Before I went to the detox retreat two weeks ago, I wore this outfit… somewhere. I can’t even remember what we were doing or where we were going. If I had more time to think I could probably remember, but in my doggy-filled days my brain has gone to mush (I think I have dog brain, like baby brain).
Pyjama co-ords suit (few years old), worn with a silver mesh bandana necklace (similar) that I’ve had for a few years but NEVER worn(?!) and my old favourite silver Finery flatforms.
I’ve worn the top and bottoms of this suit LOADS (I’ll add photos/links of other times they’ve been worn ASAP).
Love the golden hour in these photos.
Hair was a fuzzy end-of-day mess (didn’t care).
I felt good because I could once again fit into these trousers – the pre-detox retreat fitness regime had paid off, and LOTS more of my clothes are fitting me again. I still have a “How I lost X lbs in X months” post planned for before Christmas. I feel fitter and healthier than ever.
And my morning walks? They’ve been replaced with an even-earlier-morning manic trot/jog trying to keep up with our girl Suki. Man, that girl can MOVE at 7:30 in the morning…!!
Do you do the suit co-ords thing? Are you feeling the pyjama trend? Comment below…!
P.S. Do add your outfits to this week’s link up – and if you’ve added a link to here or my button to your post you may be featured in my bi-monthly Women Who Wear What They Like post!

Thank you for joining the #iwillwearwhatilike link up! This started as a campaign on Instagram in August 2015 where women over 30 wore everything on a journalist’s list of “inappropriate” items for 30+ women (including leopard print, short dresses and oversized sunglasses. Yes, really). It was so popular that I decided to carry it on weekly where women of all ages link up their fabulous style, never mind what anyone tells them not to wear!
The link up goes live every Tuesday at around 3pm UK time and will stay open for a week. Whilst the original article was of course aimed at the 30+, you can be ANY age to link up. The only prerequisite is that you’re wearing whatever you damn well like!
Click here to receive an email reminder for the next #iwillwearwhatilike link up as soon as it’s live!

This outfit really suits you 🙂
I don’t remember seeing you with a “messy bun” either. Love the look! Slaying 🙂
Oh good, life is treating your better now and you have your new doggie. Well, you are just experiencing exactly what we did with our dog Watson. Oh my God, it is exhausting. Indeed running like mad, falling down to sleep but up after an hour demanding all your attention. Ours is a boy and we had him “helped” which makes it a little bit easier in terms of temprament but not much. He is now about 10 months old and thanks to a very good dog trainer (Ron attends classes of course as he is a pup/youngster) we managed to get him off the couch and chairs. Such a simple solution that was.
I have been going through a few old posts to catch up and promise to do better in future.

Oh Greetje I’m so glad to hear you’ve got it a bit easier with Watson – certainly sounded like he needed the training!! Suki is absolutely hilarious – she’s also incredibly intelligent though, and she can learn new tricks in a second 😀
Unusual yet flattering outfit. I love the sneakers with it. And your new fur baby? Lucky you and your partner, lucky her. Dogs are just so full of love.

Thanks Ratnamurti – I was so pleased when I realised the navy on the shoes matched the flashes of navy in the suit!
And Suki has been an absolute joy, thanks so much x
Huge congratulations on your new fur baby! I am so happy for you and your husband. A new furry child in the house is just like a new baby…so much work and so worth it! I love the pajama look. This outfit is right up my alley because it’s cool and comfortable all at the same time. xo

Thanks Mireille – she’s an absolute sweetheart!!
Yikes, where to start?! Love, love the pajama suit! That print is SO fun. And those platforms are amazingly cute! I can’t wait to see your new pup! I know exactly what you mean as our adopted doggie is a whirlwind! At just over one-year-old, she still loves to play–and chew. I’m down two pairs of shoes and a new bra as she is super sneaky! Lol! We now have soft doggie toys all over the place. She has really livened up our older dog, adopted two years ago. They bring such joy, don’t they? Enjoy every minute.

Aww thank you Darlene – I forgot how much I love these separates when worn together!
Your pup sounds a handful (in a good way!), how lovely for your older doggy!!
Lovely. Yes, in the past few months I have happily discovered matching shirt & pants combos and love them because it feels like wearing pajamas to work! For me it all started with a crinkle cotton set from a catalog that has been around for decades. When I first wore it (for comfort alone in sweltering heat) I got loads of compliments. So, I acquired 2 more sets in nicer fabric.
I like how you styled yours. Accessories are key with these (to distinguish from actual pajamas!) And it makes wearing them that much more fun.
Author
You’re right about the accessories to distinguish them from actual PJs, Liz!! 😉 Thank you xx
Firstly can I say how much I love your hair up? It really suits you. I love all the colours in the suit too and there’s some serious handbag envy going on here! xx
Author
Thank you Laurie – I do wear it up quite a bit but maybe not so much on the blog (not for a while at least, anyway)!
That’s one amazing colourful combo which you look great in. Very best wishes re: the new addition to your household. Do show us what she looks like soon x

Pish-tush, darling girl, you might think it’s a “don’t-care” presentation, but you look radiant even so. Love the outfit and styling(of course), and I can’t wait to meet and see your beautiful new family member. XOXO

Hehe it was the end of the day and I didn’t quite realise how messy my hair had got, Rona… the sunlight just emphasised it!! 😉 Thank you xx

I think the backlighting has emphasised the messy, Anne…!! 😉 Thank you x
What a super unique and fun suit! I am dying over the sequin bandana necklace! Very cool. And of course, your shoes are amazing, too. Congratulations on your new addition! I hope you are getting some sleep. New puppies may be worse than new babies for sleep schedules!

Suki is a brilliant sleeper – she even takes us up to bed (quite literally) at about 10pm and stays there till she wakes with us at 7am, so lots of sleep is being had I’m so pleased to say! #woopwoop
