The last day of the decade and I end it with a colour I rarely wear… black!
[Reading time: 2 mins]
To be fair I’ve thrown in a bold pattern, coloured tights and a tailored coat in my favourite coral colour. This was my Christmas Day outfit: a black floral dress with the food baby-friendly shirred waist. I’ve had the dress for a couple of years (I featured it here first) and I’ve worn it several times since but this is only its second outing on the blog.
A smattering of layered gold necklaces, heels (because its Christmas) and that’s about it. I love throwing on a dress for Christmas… I wear sweats so much the rest of the time I’m not one of those people who wants to spend the day in PJs!

Thank you for joining the #iwillwearwhatilike link up!
This started as a campaign on Instagram in August 2015 where women over 30 wore everything on a journalist’s list of “inappropriate” items for 30+ women (including leopard print, short dresses and oversized sunglasses. Yes, really). It was so popular that I decided to carry it on weekly where women of all ages link up their fabulous style, never mind what anyone tells them not to wear!
The link up goes live every Tuesday at around 3pm UK time and will stay open for a week. Whilst the original article was of course aimed at the 30+, you can be ANY age to link up. The only prerequisite is that you’re wearing whatever you damn well like!
Click here to receive an email reminder for the next #iwillwearwhatilike link up as soon as it’s live!

Bless you Jacqui, thank you x
Looking forward to tomorrow’s bloopers! My son likes to take pics of me when I make the funniest and weirdest faces and motions but I tend to delete them all. I love the cut of this dress. I have a hard time with waists on dresses if they are not at my natural waist, they either emphasize my chest or my middle section.
Author
Oh no to deleting yours, Mireille!!! Hope you like mine, they’ve just gone up 😉
These floral prints with black background are such a classic winter style. Love how you styled it. Thanks for having these linkup parties. I wish you and your loved ones a happy New Year.

Thanks Nicole – I agree about the dark background florals! HNY to you too x
It is a beautiful dress for being comfortable and stylish on the holidays! I kind of waver between dressing up and staying in pajamas on the holidays. It all depends what is on the agenda and who I am spending my time with. For New Year’s Eve, I will be in pajamas! Wishing you all the best in the coming year, you beautiful human!
