My Best Blog Posts of the 2010s (of All Time So Far)

Not Dressed As Lamb: The Best Blog Posts of the 2010s

It’s nearly the end of the decade (!), so what better way to celebrate my 8+ years blogging than with a retrospective look at my best blog posts of the 2010s?

[Reading time: 2 minutes, but will then depend on how many linked blog posts you read…!]

Every now and then I come across an old blog post and think, “Wow, that was a really good post… I’m quite proud of what I wrote there”. It might have been about the ageing process, social attitudes, fashion and style or something beauty-related – or just something trivial and fun. I started the blog in July 2011 as a daily OOTD blog, but I soon found I was wanting to write about much more than just what I wore that day.

As someone who, as my dad would say, has a lot to say – I guess I had a lot to say.

So here are the best blog posts I found in my archives – no top 10 or anything, as I didn’t want to restrict myself to any particular number. There’s a little preview of each, so the idea is that you pick and choose to read the ones that resonate with you the most. Or if you don’t have All The Time In The World right now (who does?!), at the end there’s an image to pin so that you can save it for later and then dip in and out as and when you want.

Some go as far back as 2013, others are more recent, but all the ones I’ve chosen are still very relevant. I’d love to hear your thoughts on them so PLEASE don’t hesitate to leave a comment, even if you know it’s an old post. It’s great to get conversations going and of course, I read them all and always, always reply if I can!

Hope you enjoy : -)

Which is your favourite post, or which one resonated with you the most? Tell me in the comments!

I love a trip down memory lane. Some memorable posts- I remember being blown away by your honest account of how you felt at the L’Oreal shoot. And the posts you wrote on blogging, like Know Your Worth, are so valuable.

My fav from your above list is your symmetry post. It had fascinated me back then and still does the photo today. I totally had forgotten about your post when I recently created two symmetric faces of me. I never had realized how unsymmetric my face is. To be honest, I love the unsymmetry. Isn’t that what makes us look interesting?

Wow that’s amazing that you remembered that post from so long ago, Nicole! And yes, I think my own face is much more interesting being unsymmetrical…!

Wow, that was fun – reading some of these blogs I have missed. The why do woman lie about their age is particularly interesting to me. I will be 54 in 3 months and my sentiments are very similar to readers (I read the comments too) – I don’t want to be younger, yes which that I had less aches and pains and wrinkles – but have never lied about my age. I am a South African living in Bulgaria for the past 5 years and have noticed that when I ask local friends their age (not how old they are but their age, and usually on their birthday) most have gotten cagey and don’t want to say and I get the feeling they think I am being rude, when actually it is more about finding common ground – they usually seem about 5 to 10 years younger than me. I had recently decided I must stop doing this. All your other posts were great too. I read regularly for a few years now but have not commented much. Lise

The being weird about your age is a funny one, isn’t it Lise… I wonder if it’s very much a cultural thing?!

Thank you so much for commenting, so glad you enjoyed that post, hope you like the others you read too! x
