If you read my post of two weeks ago I mentioned dressing like a Seventies newsreader… here’s the outfit, and with gold pleats too!
And would you believe it: this blouse ISN’T vintage. Though to me it totally looks like a 1970s blouse, and the evening I wore this outfit I was actually asked if it was vintage. Seems if you put brown and cream together in a pattern, it screams seventies… and I love that!
I wore this we went out to dinner down on the coast the other weekend and the weather had cooled off significantly, so I was able to wear my [gifted] Anonyme blouse at last. I’ve had it a few weeks but it’s been far too hot to wear it till now, and the gorgeous, sludgy brown, cream and blue pattern was made for a gold pleated maxi skirt which I first wore last year. And as that gold (foil?!) fabric has a touch of the Studio 54 about it, it seemed fitting to wear it with my “newsreader blouse”.
I wrote about the Anonyme label two weeks ago when I wore their blue patterned jumpsuit. You’ll see why I rate this Italian brand so much, and now they’ve launched their AW18 collection and there is SO much I love. Again, the prices are very, very reasonable so they can do no wrong in my eyes.
A Seventies newsreader blouse and a gold maxi skirt is just begging for Farrah Fawcett hair – I washed my hair the night before, twisted it up into two neat buns and voilà: an easy, quick way to have big, wavy Jill Munroe hair the next day. And just when you think I couldn’t do anything more 70s, I wore my new brown and gold earrings as well. They’re even described on the website as “70s flower earrings“… BOOM!

Thank you for joining the #iwillwearwhatilike link up! This started as a campaign on Instagram in August 2015 where women over 30 wore everything on a journalist’s list of “inappropriate” items for 30+ women (including leopard print, short dresses and oversized sunglasses. Yes, really). It was so popular that I decided to carry it on weekly where women of all ages link up their fabulous style, never mind what anyone tells them not to wear!
The link up goes live every Monday at around 3pm UK time and will stay open for a week. Whilst the original article was of course aimed at the 30+, you can be ANY age to link up. The only criteria is that you’re wearing whatever you damn well like!
