Here it is at last: the first monthly post celebrating the women who wear what they like (as part of #iwillwearwhatilike)!
If you follow my Tuesday outfit posts (previously Monday till just recently), you’ll know that I host a link up called #iwillwearwhatilike, where women who dress without the constraints of what they “should” be wearing {COUGH} link up their outfits weekly. Since the birth of the link up three years ago I’d featured my favourites from the previous week in a small section at the end of the post, but I felt like it was no longer doing these fabulous women justice.
And quite often I found it hard to choose just three (the number I chose to feature each week). But since my major work reshuffle and the new days for my regular posts, I decided to celebrate the women who link up more prominently.
I finally came up with a new way to do this: I’d like to introduce the first monthly Fabulous Women Who Wear What They Like post…!
I chose to make this first one part of the ShareAllLinkUp simply to get more exposure for this post – both link ups I host are very popular so I thought I’d take advantage of the traffic that comes here every Thursday (which used to be on a Friday and called the SaturdayShareLinkUp, are you keeping up?!) and promote the first one here. However, from next month the Fabulous Women Who Wear What They Like post (should I call it the FWWWWTL, lol??) will be on the second Wednesday of the month.
So, next month: Wednesday 12 December. Make a note (or simply sign up to email updates here – don’t forget it won’t be part of any link up).
The title is self-explanatory: these women dress to express their personality and have an incredible sense of style, whether that’s classic, on trend, boho, preppy, glam, granny chic, etc. There are NO RULES. No one has to be trendy, or wearing the latest styles to be featured. No one has to have that typical LIKEtoKNOWit/Instagram style. No one has to be a particular age. No one has to be a particular shape or size. I’ll simply feature women that have impressed me AND my readers, if they had a high number of clicks on their link, for example.
I’m still looking for more women to join the link up: I mentioned a few weeks ago that although I LOVE the fact that there are those that link up regularly, we need some more diversity. Please do send a link to this post to anyone you think has great style and is willing to link up on a Tuesday to #iwillwearwhatilike for a chance to be featured in this monthly feature post!
A note about getting yourself featured…
I don’t want to get all authoritarian on anyone’s ass, but it’s well known there are plenty of bloggers who do that classic “dump links and run” thing. I don’t want to showcase the ones that do that. I know who they are, and I can tell you for sure they won’t get themselves featured if they give nothing back. It’s only fair – if they link up – that they give a little back to the community and comment on my post and a few others to show their support. I also know the ones that constantly link up NON-outfit posts, despite me saying in the post that it’s called I WILL WEAR WHAT I LIKE. The bloggers that do this get their thumbnails deleted (and blocked if they KEEP doing it), so if it’s not a picture of YOU wearing something, it’ll disappear. That’s why I started this extra link up where anything can be shared… it doesn’t deter the Dump ‘n Runners, however!
Lecture over 😉
So without further ado, let’s get straight onto these fabulous women…
9 Fabulous Women Who Wear What They Like
In My Joi
When the post title is called “Inspired by Beyoncé” then I’m all over it. Never has a grey trouser suit looked sexier – it was genius of Joi to add the red heels and bag.
Style Nudge
Always the expert at animal print, Cherie’s snake/leopard combo is inspired. Those flares…!!
Passion Fruit, Paws & Peonies
A truly elegant look from Maria – I love the combination of fabrics and textures in a (mostly) all-black outfit.
Highland Fashionista
The lip colour, the earrings, the swooshy black fabric combined with Kristin’s stunning grombré hair is beautiful. Plus the soft eye makeup – not too dark or heavy – is OH SO perfect.
Cheryl Shops
All grey definitely isn’t boring in these beautiful textures – but! those shoes… I’m officially dead.
Fashion Fairy Dust
Expert layering from Debbie: the unusual colour combo contrasts beautifully with her gorgeous hair. Love the OTK boots.
✷ ✷ ✷ ✷ ✷
So those were the bloggers that linked up to #iwillwearwhatilike – now I want to share some bloggers who weren’t part of the link up, but whose outfits made me look twice. Each month I’ll pick one for each of these three categories…
The blogger that didn’t link up (but I wish she did…)
Lella Victoria
A beautiful, unusual floral top worn by Daniella that reminds me of a William Morris print. Together with crazy-wide cropped trousers and those statement earrings this outfit really wowed me. Now, if only she would link up every week I could feature her more often…!
The blogger with the most inspirational photoshoot
Rachel Ann Jensen
My go-to for stunning vintage outfits, Rachel Ann’s pink-dress-in-the-park photoshoot is incredible. It was as if the colours were designed as a set especially for her to shoot there; her lipstick and the flower corsage pick out the red in the beautiful scenery.
The blogger with the most jaw-dropping outfit
Atlantic Pacific
Seeing as this is the first of this series, I HAD to include Blair as my first “blogger with the most jaw-dropping outfit” choice. I don’t even know where to begin with this look; it is styled to PERFECTION. I’m officially dead a second time over.
I hope you enjoyed the first post of this new monthly series; remember, it will normally be on the second Wednesday of the month so if you don’t want to miss any more then make sure you sign up for email updates!

awesome celebration of women who truly wear what they like. They rock their individual styles so very well. Thanks for sharing. Not linking today just reading and looking. It’s a rare treat to just enjoy a post lately.

Thank you Linda… seems this feature has gone down a treat I’m so pleased to say!
Hi, Catherine – This is so amazing to see how spectacular women can look when they wear what they like! It’s super inspiring, and goes to show that we definitely should not care one bit about what anyone else thinks! – Angie
Author
Thanks Angie, I’m really glad you liked the post… I admire these women so much!!
Pretty certain those checked shoes are the ones I was lusting after in Zara the other week. Of course, they weren’t there when I went back (so I got a lovely mustard pair instead!)
I love these women and their style.
They are truly all fabulous, Catherine. I love that I am inspired by bits of them all. I will never tire of posts like this. They are to me what fashion blogging is all about. xo
Author
Sooooooooo glad to hear you won’t tire of them Sharon… that’s exactly what I hope my readers will always think!! thank you hon x
They are all lovely but I really really deeply want Cherie’s trousers! 🙂
Author
They’re all sorts of marvellous aren’t they, Izzi 😉 x
Thanks for hosting and I hope that you have a wonderful week. Great post this week.
Author
So glad you liked it, thanks Patrick!
This is really cool Catherine. I tend to kind of scroll down when there are so many small photos shown (sorry ladies), but looking at a selection of 9 large photos with a bit of text from you is a real pleasure and inspiration. I applaud the change!
Love, Lieske
Author
I try and make the thumbnails as large as possible as I tend to agree with you when it comes to link ups, Lieske! Therefore I’m really happy you like it. Took me a while to work out the format of this monthly feature but I think I’ve cracked it! thank you x
I know this is supposed to be about the outfits, but I want Cherie’s bedroom!
Author
Hehe no it’s quite often just as interesting to see inside people’s houses, isn’t it Lieve 😉
Catherine, thank you so much for featuring me here, especially alongside these stylish, inspiring ladies! Cherie is one of my personal favorites—and she’s the only person I know who loves animal prints more than I do—and I’ve admired Blair Eadie for years.
As for my shoes, they are Zara, and they are only $35!

Uhhhhhhh those shoes were just stunning, Cheryl!! And I’m so glad you liked the feature, I’ve been dying to do something new and I’m so pleased with this new format 🙂
What a great idea!! My favs are Cherie, Maria and Debbie!
Author
Thanks Lisa – so glad you liked the ladies and the post! x
Such a great idea. Thanks for doing this.
Forgot to mention my favorite, Maria. Because her outfit is one of the few I could and would actually wear. I’m just a normal housewife in the midwest, a lot of these outfits are gorgeous but not practical for my life. Cheryl’s outfit is cute too, but I could never wear those pointy shoes. I love them, but they would kill my feet. I love the floral top in Daniella’s outfit.
Author
Inspiration comes in all different forms, Amy – a lot of these outfits in their exact form aren’t practical for my life either, but every outfit inspires me to try something different: adding a punch of red – like a hat or scarf – to an all-grey outfit of knits and jogging bottoms (Joi); mixing leopard print and snakeskin, like a leopard coat and a snakeskin bag (Cherie); adding a belt to a one-shoulder dress that I’m going to be wearing at the end of the month (Blair). See where I’m going…?
I never wear outfits that inspire me by copying them exactly – it’s about trying something different that you might otherwise not have thought of if it were not for that outfit you saw on X blog.
And I know what you mean about pointed shoes – but if you get a good pair they CAN be the comfiest shoes ever… I have a pair of very pointed flats and they’re so comfy I’ve often worn them as a shoe for a day’s sightseeing. Pleeeeeeeease don’t ever dismiss anything on its face value, it’s just about applying a little imagination…!
I think you read my comment incorrectly because you’re making the point I was making. I would wear Cheryl’s outfit, but pick a different pair of shoes. And I love the top in Daniella’s outfit, but I know that style of pants would look awful on my frame. I would use my “imagination” and pick a different pair of pants to wear with that top.
Author
Oh I am sorry Amy – to me it sounded like you were saying they’re not of any interest to you because they’re not practical to your life… I got a very negative vibe from your comment and wanted you to see that featuring them as inspiration was a positive thing! x
Highland Fashionista looks gorgeous, will definitely be checking her page. And I agree with you on Atlantic Pacific’s snazzy sequins. But I think Rachel Ann gets my overall vote. What beautiful photography and I love her style! That vintage look is my favourite, even though I don’t have the patience to pull it off myself. But I really love it! X
Author
Soooooooo many amazing women with incredible style, aren’t there Emerald?! Rachel Ann’s photo shoots are ALWAYS stunning <3
Omg…Blair’s outfit! I have no words to express the fabulousness… Thank so very much for the feature Catherine, you made my week!
Have a fabulous weekend my friend…xo

Blair’s outfit is a showstopper even for HER, isn’t it Debbie?!!
And you’re most welcome for the feature, thank you for linking up! x
I love the women you featured. I recently included Debbie in this post because when I think of boho chic, she instantly comes to mind. Lately on Wednesdays I’ve been featuring a certain style/trend/look. In October it was how to wear Western, and of course, Debbie comes to mind. This month it’s wearing leopard, and Miss Style Nudge will FOR SURE be included. I also love that you reminded me about Highland Fashionista. I hadn’t visited her in so long, and she’s just so beautiful. Also, the JOI! I have always wanted to wear a blazer (or suit) without a bra, and I may have the courage… Of course you had to include Blaire, I mean she’s all our style inspo, right?!
Great post. I love how collaborative and supportive you are always!
Love, Ann from Kremb de la Kremb
PS I included a post from a fun festival we attended in Hong Kong called Clockenflap. And I also included my post that has been getting TONS of love lately, Wear the Black Bra!
Author
Annie I loved that you loved them all so much – and THANK YOU for those kind words, they mean so much my lovely!!
Great idea for a monthly post and would be good to feature some of the less well known bloggers.
Author
I love featuring some of the lesser known bloggers, Gail…! Glad you liked the post x
Catherine, I was so shocked to see my photo on your Instagram stories! I am honored that you chose me and I’m honored to be among such a stylish group of strong women. You are a wonderful inspiration to all of us because of your strength and your constant support of women. Thank you. And, thank you again for the lovely feature. XO
Author
My absolute pleasure, Cherie. I simply HAD to feature your outfit when you wearing not just one but TWO incredible animal prints…!
Lol message received! I will most certainly link up. I’m so terrible with these things, I’ve been scrolling up and down for the last 5 minutes trying to figure out how I even link up?! Think I’ve figured it out 😉
Aw Catherine I don’t know what to say other that I’m grateful to be featured on a post that celebrates true individual and personal style. The encouragement of woman (and men of course) to wear whatever they want no matter what, is a message I stand so strongly behind. Life’s too short, so buy the “crazy” clothes and wear them with confidence! Proud and grateful to be amongst so many stylish woman. Thank you again xx
Author
Hopefully you found the blue “Add your link” button, Daniella…? It would be WONDERFUL to have you link up… it means traffic for your blog, new people will find you, and you may just get featured again! Win win!!
I agree that life’s too short not to wear the crazy clothes 😉 – I can’t wait to see how you rock maternity style!! Thank you my lovely, it was a pleasure to feature you x
Catherine, I love this idea of a monthly post featuring fabulous women who wear whatever the hell they like! And you have picked some of my favorites ever to feature for this first installment! As always, I am completely inspired by you and them and all of the other amazing bloggers whom I have met through this blogging journey! Well done, my friend. Very well done!

Cindy, Catherine is soooo good at supporting all of us. I mean of course she has amazing style, but her beauty is so inside deep too. Like you, I’ve been following Catherine for a long time and she’s one of the first I connected with. She has also connected. Think of how many people she does this with! Wow!!
