Although I have scheduled all my posts for the summer, I had to squeeze in the pictures from our long weekend in London to see the Olympics!
Cable car over the river linking the Olympic park with other venues. Not good if you don’t like heights (like me), though I still make myself do these things…!
Women’s table tennis (I got the best shot before it started)
Men’s weightlifting – the crowd noise was deafening…!
I saw the announcement live on TV seven years when London won the Olympics bid – and I told Mr. Summers straight away that I wanted to go in 2012… this weekend I finally got my wish! All I can say is that we had the most fantastic time – the organisation was amazing, the Olympics volunteers were just great and the whole atmosphere was everything I hoped it’d be. We managed to get tickets for table tennis and weightlifting, so didn’t get to go into the stadium or the velodrome (my only regret), but we did watch several gold medals being won by team GB on the big screen in the pub next door to the Excel Arena. Needless to say it was loud, entertaining, and so, so memorable.
Oh not forgetting! I wore sneaks for comfort, light layers for sun and rain, and a sequinned collar so I’d have my own gold bling around my neck π
Happy weekend everyone!

This sounds like soooo much fun. It's always been my dream to go to the Olympics. I would love to see synchronized swimming though.

Catherine, I'm so excited to be able to comment now, because I totally cried the first time I read this post! I am just so proud of my English friends and the lovely job your country did of hosting the Olympics. The ceremonies were beautiful, and everything I've read says the English people were so lovely and hospitable. I'm terribly jealous you got to go. As usual, you look so fashion forward and you are just genius at layering accessories!!! ~Sarah
UM- what an A.MAZ.ING outfit! The arm candy is too fabulous for words!

Lucky you – being at the Olympics! I never heard about the cable car, will it be disassembled afterwards? I saw on the news that the handball arena isn't meant to be used at the present site, but will be taken down and used elsewhere. I think that's a great idea!
You've chosen some lovely colours for your outfit, and I especially like the cardigan and your bracelets. The greenish yellow is incredible with your hair!
The most fashion of visitors to the games. I love this outfit lightweight and comfortable. Precious brazalestes and collar is great. A gold medal for Catherine!
Lucky stiff getting to attend the Olympics! And the arm candy is lovely.
