15 Unmissable Reads, the Best of the Blogosphere (May 2019)

15 Unmissable Reads, the Best of the Blogosphere (May 2019) | Not Dressed As Lamb

In my Best of the Blogosphere this month I have brilliant napping tips, alternative safari chic, the funniest exercise video EVER – and more!

(In case you’ve not seen these posts before my Unmissable Reads are a monthly round-up of things I’ve seen, watched and liked in the blogosphere that I’m sure you’ll love too.)

Regular readers may have noticed that this post has gone out on a Sunday morning instead of the usual third Wednesday of the month… I’ve decided to have a bit of a switch around. As I always post on a Tuesday and Thursday I seemed to be cramming in three posts on three consecutive days – then nothing between Friday and Monday! I thought that Sunday seemed like a good day to indulge in a bit of internet rabbit hole reading, so hopefully the last Sunday of the month will suit everyone (and my schedule) much better.

We’ll see how I go for the first few months!

Anyway this month there are loads of exciting and interesting reads. It includes the BEST Instagram post ever advertising an “awkward” product (I’ve watched it sooooo many times just for a giggle every time), lovely clean, edgy makeup that I’m totally on board with and all sorts of self-help and self-improvement tips.

Do have a read of these great links – you never know who or what you might discover that makes your day/week/month!

Alice’s new practice of not putting herself down by asking whether it’s something she’d say to someone she loves is nothing short of brilliant.

Brigita contemplates what makes you a fashion blogger today (another take on my own post about whatever happened to individuality in blogging).

If you want to know how to promote, er, “awkward” products on Instagram (I’m talking anything related to sex or bodily functions), then you should just tackle the embarrassment head-on: the funniest and most effective ad EVER EVER EVER for a lady product.

Michelle has brilliantly listed 6 ethical and sustainable luxury brands that you’ll love: we need MORE of this please, blogosphere. Less H&M and Primark (ughh), more Beulah London please.

The best napping tips for parents I ever did hear.

If (like me) you’re fond of bold colour, Blair shows us several beautiful ways to wear a brightly coloured suit, no matter what the colour.

Such a beautiful, simple fashion image (with Minnie Mouse “ears”!) – swipe through to see #TheWhitneySmile that Whitney’s so well known for.

This is such a fantastic take on safari chic – a totally unexpected tan and dark green combo from Liyana.

I’m very guilty of this: 3 things we should all stop apologising for.

If you feel your blog needs to change, that’s perfectly okay. Liz explains on her blogiversary why she’s in the process of making a big change.

Lest we forget there are so many things to do that DON’T involve a smartphone or the internet, here are 30 fun, affordable things to do this weekend.

As an amazing antidote to heavy Instagram makeup, FlexMami’s stunning makeup looks are simple, clean and edgy.

A few simple, easy-to-implement tips for writers and bloggers on how to write really, really useful, interesting and engaging content.

These Instagram Story tips are so brilliant and VERY creative – I didn’t know most of them.

I always love this round up of unmissable reads! So much information out there that is useful and interesting. Thanks for sharing! It reminds me of a series I used to do on my blog way back years ago, Little Bits of Inspiration, where I would share 5 inspiring posts from the internet every week. I am thinking maybe I should revive that series now!
