And before I forget: Happy New Year, you lovely lot…!
It may be only once a year but I love this post above all others, usually because I sit laughing my head off whilst writing it (and yes, I know that’s pretty much like laughing at your own jokes but I do that too, so I guess I’m allowed).
As always you will see that fashion bloggers – or at least definitely not this fashion blogger – are not the elegant, sophisticated, photogenic creatures you think they are… I couldn’t be further from that description, judging by these pictures.
I’m mostly pulling hideous faces, or gurning, or standing in the most unflattering way, or battling bad weather – or all of the above. I have the usual photobombers who try to outdo themselves each year. All in all I think it’s safe to say this was a vintage year for Not Dressed As Lamb: I may have won a blogging award in 2016 but they didn’t see the hard work I put into getting these bloopers just right for your entertainment each year. My dedication amazes even me 😉
Be warned: This is a photo-heavy post (32 bloopers!), but boy are they worth it – like any Marvel film you have to stick around right till the very end…
WHICH WAS YOUR FAVOURITE OUTTAKE? TELL ME IN THE COMMENTS (AND HERE’S WISHING YOU A VERY FRUITFUL, HAPPY AND HEALTHY 2017)
All fashion bloggers know this: The wind is an a***hole. It’s official. Original post >>
I think I was in my own little world, playing funky music in my head whilst waiting for my cue to pose. Original post >>
Told you the wind is an a***hole. I’m supposed to have a fringe in this picture, not a quiff. Original post >>
This happens several times a year – because of his devotion to his great uncle (my husband), he’ll insist on accompanying us on a photo shoot with us when he’s around. He ended up wanting to do some leaping shots with me so we usually do a set of those just for him. Bless 😍 Original post >>
I was so annoyed when I got to the location and realised my teeth were still in the glass of water next to the bed…! 😜 I really don’t know what’s happening here except for that pesky wind rearing its ugly head again – it’s the only explanation for that look of pain on my face. Original post >>
If your mother ever told you not to pull faces because the wind will change and your face will stay like it, she was right. My face stayed like that over the course of three photo shoots (proof coming up). More evidence to show the wind’s tendency to be an a***hole. Original post >>
Trying to find a comfy spot on that pebble beach was not an easy task – more than one pointy stone got me in the jacksy. Original post >>
Give me a large empty space between some industrial units and I’m dancing like the Jets and the Sharks are going out of fashion (which, of course, they never will). Original post >>
My hair often has a life of its own – here my bob is demonstrating its aeronautical capabilities. Original post >>
Not sure I could look any more miserable than I did here. Windy, raining, cold. Roll on summer. Original post >>
Apparently my poses were becoming a bit “samey”, so I tried some new ones. Cara Delevingne had better watch out, her job is at risk. Original post >>
Hand on heart, this is NOT what it looks like. We were discussing the camera’s aperture settings, and I was shouting “f2! You need f2!” Honestly…! Original post >>
Although I don’t use Photoshop to ‘alter’ my appearance per se, there are occasionally times that those rules have to be broken. Let’s just say I was shooting a Spring outfit in February/March and I was freezing. Original post >>
Why is it when you get an itchy ear you can’t scratch it without pulling a face at the same time? Original post >>
Drama was never my strong point. Subtle as a brick, me. Original post >>
My face says it all: I’m cold, I’m wet, I’m fed up, I want to go home. No more “one last shot”, thank you very much. Original post >>
Yep, my enthusiasm knows no bounds. (There’s that face again when the wind changed.) Original post >>
I’m at a wedding, I’m all dressed up, I’m even wearing a hat(ish), and the damn midges won’t leave me alone to do a quick photo shoot. I already looked weird to most of the guests who were looking over (why does she get her own photo shoot as well as the bride)? – this didn’t help. Original post >>
I have no idea how I managed to look like I was leaning this far over. And yes, I did eventually fall over. Original post >>
This lump of gorgeous feline fluffiness is the cat that visits my husband’s place of work, otherwise known (to me) as his “work wife”. She’s determined to monopolise his attention the whole time. Original post >>
This photo shoot turned out to be a bit of a diamond where outtakes were concerned: We decided we were bored with my usual “walking across the frame” shot so I tried something different. Continuous shooting was made for creating GIFs, right? Original post >>
I don’t know what I didn’t know here. Except I do know that the wind had made my face stick for a third time. Original post >>
Stinging nettles, brambles, they all got me that day. I’m just amazed I didn’t fall head-first into them, I’m that clumsy. Original post >>
This one makes me laugh… You know when the weather is so horrible it just makes you go What the WHAT at it? That. Original post >>
Ooh, I looked so glamorous. And then I felt some food leftover from lunch in my teeth: Not so glamorous. Original post >>
I was really trying to help, honestly. Look at the concentration on my face. Original post >>
I have to be careful when photographing these ghillie shoes so that they don’t look like long weird clown shoes or pied piper shoes (😱). In other words, don’t stand like this. Original post >>
As I always say to friends and family: If you don’t want to be in my annual bloopers and outtakes post, don’t photobomb the picture. Unfortunately it’s now backfired and it’s their aim to actually get on the blog on January 1st. Original post >>
I. Have. No. Words. [Pause.] None. Original post >>
I don’t know if I was bored while waiting for the husband to get the settings right on the camera or if I was just boring myself with my poses, but I was bored. Original post >>
Was that not how I was supposed to show it off? Original post >>
Jumping shots always produce some of the funniest outtakes – and this shoot was no exception. Crazy, crazy, crazy. Original post >>
