Okay, I have to warn you… these white skinnies are going to be on the blog a LOT over the next few weeks (or maybe longer). It’s the perfect weather to wear them at the moment – spring like, but definitely not hot. I’m feeling a bit Liz Hurley, the amount I’m wearing them at the moment (I’m sure she never takes hers off, either).
So I’ve realised that my Go-To Uniform of skinnies, blazer and heels is a lot more prevalent in my daily attire than I thought: this is the second version after part one last week. This jacket was chosen for me when I went to a personal shopper at Debenhams a couple of weeks back; I was lucky enough to have been given a voucher with a whole load of treats attached (personal shopper, beauty consultation, manicure, tea and cake in the restaurant) as a thank you for some work I’d done for someone. I was a little hesitant about the personal shopper thing, but I didn’t tell the lovely young lady beforehand that I had a style blog, and I pretty much gave her free reign.
Basically the personal shopping thing is a totally free service, and you’re under no obligation to buy. But if they get it spot-on, then you’ve got yourself some great new pieces that you might not otherwise have chosen yourself. This jacket is totally me (soft blazer in a wild pattern ? er, yes please!), and although I did buy the pyjama-style matching pants I’ll be taking them back unfortunately – only because of the fit (they could have done with being looser from the knee down). Shame – I would have loved a man-repelling pyjama pant suit.
So I came away with several pieces that I love, all to be seen on the blog in time… so thank you Rosie from Debenhams in Bath, you did a great job! I would definitely recommend it as a service to take advantage of (it’s free), and who says us style bloggers get it right every time… I certainly don’t!
Next week: I have a special week in store for you. Think vintage, for a whole week, starting Monday. In the meantime I have a couple more OOTD posts, maybe featuring my white jeans again. I did warn you ๐
(Anyone else obsessing over one particular item of clothing at the moment? Or tried a personal shopper? Let me know!)
Jacket: Debenhams, Jeans: Asos, Tank: F+F at Tesco, Heels: French Connection (old), Choker: Asos, Spike cuff: New Look, Chevron rings: Asos
I just online bought a pair of distressed white skinnies too. God knows how am I gonna pack my ginormous behind in them, but it's done now. If I look half as good in mine as you do in yours, I've done well.
What a gorgeous outfit! Those pants look great with the shoes ๐
I'd love it if you can drop by mine and check out my latest post: http://www.fashchronicles.blogspot.com
Those shoes are ridiculously charming!
you had me at white skinnies……but that jacket…..this is literally the perfect outfit!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These white skinnies are perfection on you. If I looked like that I wouldn't take them off-ever (at least until fall)!! I've never worked with a personal shopper but my mom has a 'girl' at Nordstrom. They seem to be besties and mom is pretty stylish! ๐

I love a pair of tighty white-ys but when do you stop with the look, let's just say I am well past 40, should I be heading towards silk palazzos? Which I love by the way so wouldn't be a huge hardship…
That's quite a chic uni lady!
Such gorgeous photos Catherin! Love that blazer and love those fabulous shoes ๐

Love the jacket, and such a reasonable price too! I went to a personal stylist (Debenhams on Oxford Street in London) before my 60th birthday as I wanted a special outfit for the occasion and I hoped that she might bring me things I wouldn't have thought of for myself, which she did. I also went to Banana Republic on Regent Street: before that appointment the stylist asked what sort of clothes and colours I liked so I gave her a link to my blog. She had selected some great clothes for me to try on but the main reason I thought she was good was that, when I tried on a pair of trousers which I felt were a fraction tight around the waist, she pointed out that they had some stretch and the next size up would be too big. I tried sitting down in them and realised she was quite right, but on my own I would probably have bought the larger size. My best personal stylist though is my youngest daughter, who has a knack of picking the right style and colours for me: she's a great person to go shopping with!

This is what I call a perfect spring outfit, and I agree, you are the only one I've seen whose legs don't look fat in skinny jeans, haha. I love the floral jacket.
Great blog, btw, woudl you like to follow each other?

Love that jacket, especially paired with white jeans. Lovely!
Lovely jacket.
So gorgeousยกยกยกยก
You are also so chic and lovely! The blazer is totally you. White skinnies are perfect between the cool and the warm transition of spring to summer. I can see while you are living in them.
A vintage week all week next week? I can't wait to see it! I'm sure you will be a jaw droppingly gorgeous and stylish as ever! xo! Bella Q
I love the floral jacket so much, florals are always my favourite. I adore how unique the shoes are and how much of a statement they make.
Gorgeous jacket … love it a lot. I'm pretty much passionate about Asian prints but haven't found many that I really like. This one isn't the least costumey, and looks perfect.
Good for you!
Ooooh …. the shoes caused my heart to flutter .. lovely outfit and what an awesome treat you received.
I love my white jeans, but I am such a spaz. Thank goodness for bleach. How do you keep yours clean.
That's a lovely jacket. I'm steadily trying to build up my collection of blazers.
This is a great look and you look very sophisticated. Love the jacket and great accessories.
Sophisticated as always ๐ Rosie x

Yes, the white skinnies are completely *you* and worthy of regular showings. Fabulous jacket and shoes too. xoxoxo
Gorgeous photos and great look, Catherine.
When I saw the shoes I knew this is "your" look – they are perfect for you.
Interesting experience, I never tried a personal shopper, probably because I wouldn't feel confident if I don't buy…
