London in an instant

Just a little taster of what I’ll be posting from our New Year’s weekend in London…

I rather like all these Instagrams I’m seeing everywhere at the moment, but I don’t have an iPhone or anything with apps or whatever they are (I’m sooo uncool when it comes to modern technology and gadgets). These pics remind me of my photography degree days when we tried all sorts of similar photographic tricks in the darkroom (ask your grandmother what one of those was 😉

So if anyone’s interested in getting the same effects with standard pictures, I used http://pixlr.com/o-matic/ where you can create all sorts of effects on your standard snapshots – it’s easy to use and they look fabulous! It’s a fair bit of work and you’ll need to crop your photos square first, but if you’re into the photography side of blogging I think it’s worth it.

Outfit post tomorrow!

I've tried to replicate the same thing using Photobucket, because when it comes to cell phones, I'm somewhere between the Stone Age and now. Closer to the Stone Age. 🙂

Wow, very cool! I used to have a darkroom, loved when the picture would start to appear in the developer. Don't miss the smell of the chemicals, though.

That is a MARVELLOUS tip, I'd definitely try that at some point- my photos are soo rubbishly presented (of course it can't stop me being rubbish at taking shots, but would it make them look better finished?) I love this set of pictures- brilliant!
I apologise for not getting back to you to say thank you for leaving me that comment about my head being chopped off- that's so kind of you to tell me how to remedy it! It's lovely to visit you blog. I shall have a wander around and see the pretty sights! Thank you!
