I’ve had them done a few times in the past but never featured them properly on the blog – I’m sharing the stunning new eyelash extensions I had done this week!
I’m very lucky in that one of my nieces is trained in doing eyelash extensions, and she kindly does my eyelashes (with a little family discount, of course) every now and then when I need them for an event or a party.
Christmas and the winter is actually a great time to get them done because those of us with pale skin tend to get very pasty in the winter, and I’m someone who needs some colour in my face or I pretty much look like death warmed up without any make up at all once the colour from summer has worn off.
The great thing about eyelash extensions is that you can get away with absolutely no eye make up at all – and your eyes look AMAZING.
I’ve taken these photos wearing only a little base, a tiny bit of colour in my eyebrows to fill in gaps and a bold lip – however there is absolutely zero make up on my eyes… scroll down to see the full effect!
Lipstick: Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid Lipstick ‘Orange Shot’
The ones I’ve had applied are quite natural – if you want to go full on dramatic you can have them done much longer if you wish. I don’t have much of a gap between my eyelid and eyebrow, so I go for shorter ones… I love the “Bambi” look they give your eyes.
In case you’re wondering what eyelash extensions are, they’re semi-permanent single eyelashes that are glued on one by one to your natural lashes and last about 4-5 weeks (after which time you can have infills done to top them up). Your eye area is protected by special pads so there’s no danger of anything getting in your eyes, and the whole process takes about 45 minutes. Of course as glue is going near your eyes make sure you have them done properly by a trained person.
My niece does them from home so her full price is a lot cheaper than having them done in a salon – if you’re in the Exeter (Devon) area you can get in touch with her via Instagram here. She charges £35 for a full set and £18 for infills* – so worth it, and it saves you a TON of time in the morning, it’s amazing how long mascara takes!

So I highly recommend them if you love the look of false lashes but find them too fiddly to put on – this is the best of both worlds!
(No link up next week as it’s so close to Christmas – it’ll be back on the 30th!)
So all that’s left to say is… LET’S GET THIS [LINK UP] PARTY STARTED!!

So beautiful!
Wowzers, truly stunning! Do they affect your own lashes in any way?
Thanks Gail – the very first time I had them done I was convinced it had affected my own eyelashes' growth, but I think it was the shock of them going back to their normal length that made them seem as if they had depleted! But since then I've always used a growth serum on my lashes, so it keeps them growing thick and healthy underneath x
Brilliant eyelashes. I would have them done in a shot, so natural, ahhhhh
Good posting time as well.
Have a lovely weekend, dear Catherine

I did mine for several months but never once did my eyes look like yours, Catherine!! Nowhere near the bombshell look you're sporting so beautifully. Being possessed of the typical Asian eye, my lashes were on the sparse side so my technician tried the two per lash technique which, while in theory sounded beautiful, lasted for less than a few days. Just too heavy 🙂 so I gave up after a while. It was too much work to not use oil cleansers GRIN
Wow. These eyelash extensions look so stunning. How long do they last? Your eye color is so cool.
Thank you Nicole – they last about 4 weeks, but after that time you only need infills to "top them up" as it were 🙂
Wow, they look amazing, I need to get mine done I think! Thanks for hosting the link up. x Jacqui
