My Favourite Fun and Fabulous Links – August 2016

Favourite Fun & Fabulous Links August 2016 | Not Dressed As Lamb
There’s so much good stuff out there to read right now – August may traditionally be the ‘quiet month’ where blogging’s concerned but that doesn’t seem to have affected the quality of what I’ve been reading lately!

My Favourite Fun and Fabulous Links is a monthly post of things I’ve seen, watched and liked on the internet that I’m sure you’ll love too. This month I’m sharing Audrey’s entire Breakfast at Tiffany’s wardrobe, a stunning photo shoot in the rain, a natural make up look for 40+ women and thoughts on dressing your age – by a (very articulate) teenager.

The weekly Capsule Wardrobe Pieces series will take a break this week as my fave links post comes to you every fourth Wednesday of the month, so that series will be back next week with no.4 – plain white t-shirts!

What Instagram would look like on Windows 95 is absolutely hilarious (and may make you feel old if it looks all-too familiar).

Having done a Cornwall road trip in a vintage VW bus myself a few years ago, I loved reading about Molly’s travels in a camper van down to Tintagel, Padstow and Land’s End.

Lily has proved that the same piece of clothing can work for both teenagers (herself) and older women (me) alike. Thoughts on dressing your age by a very astute, intelligent young lady.

6 fashion truths you learn in your 30s with thoughts and quotes from digital influencers – myself included.

I’m desperately craving this colour-blocked contour knit from & Other Stories for autumn ♡

The most visually striking films ever? Yes, I’d probably have to agree.

The best flatlay tips ever? Yes, I’d say they were.

Just about the most gorgeous outdoor balcony space I’ve ever seen thanks to Monika’s expert styling skills.

It may be an old post but this is one of the best write-ups I’ve ever read about Audrey Hepburn’s wardrobe in Breakfast at Tiffany’s – it’s well worth reminding ourselves of just how iconic all the looks were, not just the black Givenchy gown in the opening scene.

I didn’t really get what ‘Instagram stories’ were till I read Erika’s post with her thoughts about the pros and cons compared to Snapchat.

THIS is how to do a photo shoot in the rain (and look stylish) as demonstrated by the ever-lovely Carelia.

The best of The Over 40 Collective this month

This is a new section where I share the best post from each member of The O40Co that I’m proud to be part of (see this post for an explanation). Enjoy! πŸ™‚

Lisa has written the most fascinating insight about how she spent her 20s in New York and visiting it for the first time in four years… A beautifully nostalgic post.

Not only does Liz look incredible in her stripy swimsuit and floppy hat, but her photos on the beach in Nerja, Spain are an absolute delight for the eyes.

Nikki has reviewed a whole ton of great beauty products for women over 40 (her reviews are always so wonderfully honest and personal).

As a professional make-up artist, Michelle’s natural make-up look for women over 40 is a refreshing change from all the contouring, strobing and Instagram eyebrows we constantly see these days.

Annette looks incredible in this grey tube dress and white, longline sleeveless jacket – I literally gasped when I saw this outfit.

Something we all need now and then: 6 ways to improve your mood thanks to the other Michelle (tip no.5 is the BEST).

And a few Not Dressed As Lamb posts you perhaps missed first time around: Photo tips | How to take the best photographs in bright sunlight, or Capsule wardrobe pieces that suit all body shapes & sizes – No.1 classic sunglasses or Why women of any age can wear a bikini – or cover up – if they wish.

Thanks Catherine for sharing my rainy photoshoot. It's always a challenge to take photographs in that kind of weather, however the lighting was perfect, so we took a chance. I'm glad you liked it.
