Sometimes boyfriend jeans are the best solution for a day at home, rather than staying in your pyjamas or sweats all day.
They’re more comfortable than skinny jeans (especially if I’m doing things sitting down), yet I still feel as if I need to dress them up just a little bit. I tend to get one or two callers at home during the day (we live right in the town centre and I get a lot of deliveries), so having something I can throw on in the morning that’s also respectable for a knock at the door is important.
All boyfriend jeans need, for example, are a slightly smarter top, a leopard print belt (also helps to keep them up – why do mine always become so big on the waist?!) and some funky sandals. Yes – I pranced about the house in these ones from Debenhams all day, simply because I felt like it. And when your hair is unwashed, matted and generally pretty rank, do what I do: tie it into a side ponytail, backcomb the hell out of it, pin it all up into a messy bun and plonk a hat on your head.
Voilà – comfy, front-door presentable, and even worthy of a photoshoot. What’s your go-to outfit at home to make sure you’re prepared for visitors? And do you toy with boyfriend jeans at any time to make a change from skinnies…?!
Happy Tuesday everyone xo

Your looks at spot on-so stylish! I was just looking at your summer posts and they are perfect on you. I've voted and you are a style inspiration (you should win for that midriff alone! ;).
xx, Heather
Your funky sandals are elegant and chic! I love them!
This outfit looks to comfortabel yet chic! Jeans paired with nude or camel tones are always classy. Gorgeous, Catherine!

Oh… good. Funnily enough very ladylike, very smart. Probably because of the top.
Love this simple top. And of course, a belt like that, lifts an outfit and the sandals are a find. I saw them in a recent post and like them a lot.

Love this! I just two more pairs of boyfriends. Ha!
I love this look – I think it is the least colorful I've ever seen on you and its totally gorgeous! I am guilty of living in sweats, leggings, and really anything with an elastic waist when I am at home. Kudos to you for looking fabulous even when slubbing around the house! 🙂
Haha I do go all neutrals now and then, Ashlea! Thank you my little lammie xx
WOW! You rocked this. If on;y we all looked that amazing in boyfriend jeans! 🙂
Bless you, Priscilla – thank you! C xx
CUTE! I ADORE the sandals! Your description was HILARIOUS!!
Heehee thanks sweetie xxx
I want boyfriend jeans, but so far I've yet to find a pair with the right fit at the right price!! I think you look awesome in yours!
The Random Writings of Rachel
They are a hard style to get right, Rachel – I agree. To be honest these ones really are too big for me but the belt kinda sorts that out…! Thank you xx
The way you've styled these boyfriends jeans is and looks truly delightful and so very chic! Your sweater is beautiful and of course you are rocking the hell out of that hat 🙂
Take care,

I've never been fond of boyfriend jeans on me but these fit you so cute. Love this whole casual look.
Perfect outfit, Catherine! I love a great pair of boyfriends…these ones fit you great!

I totally agree that for days around the house, boyfriend jeans are better than skinnies (not so comfy, unless you never eat) or sweats (kind of depressing). I like to pair mine with a basic white tee and dress the whole thing up with lightweight layered necklaces and maybe a bracelet or two.
Hmm I like the sound of the necklaces and the white tee, Amy!! And yes – sweats are depressing, I agree xx
Love your outfit ~ great belt. I've never had a pair of boyfriend jeans before…these are really cute!
Laurie

Love your style and blog, those jeans are fab! Found you via Arash's blog! x
Thank you sweetie – and welcome! Nice to meet you xx
I love these boyfriend jeans on you! If I had a pair, I'd always want to dress them up to. I've never bought a pair of boyfriend jeans because I feel like they're too boxy and not cute on me, but I really want to try a pair. What do you think? Get maybe a more fitted kind of boyfriend jean?
Have a great day!

I love boyfriend jeans! I have the same problem with the waist getting loose throughout the day. Belting them really does help. You look so put-together! And hats ARE fantastic for dirty hair days. 🙂
