Autumnal Layering | A Camel Midi Skirt With Multi Textures and Warm Colours

Autumnal layering with multi textures and soft colours: Camel midi skirt, pink textured sweater, tan knee boots, leopard print hat | Not Dressed As Lamb, over 40 style

There are so many lush textures and colours in this autumnal outfit I almost don’t know where to start…!

You really can’t beat the colour camel at this time of year, and along with tan (perfect for accessories) it’s the best that brown can possibly be. I think camel has had a bad rap over the years as being a bit like beige (i.e. bland), but with all things 70s being so on-trend for the past couple of years it’s really having the time of its life right now.

This weekend outfit (one that was spent doing housework, running errands and the grocery shopping – yes, my life is that fabulous) is a delicious mixture of multi textures and soft, warm colours. Dusky pink goes so well with camel, and as mentioned tan is the daddy of accessories colours IMHO.

And as is so often the case with autumn, the old favourites come round once again… I know that these get a lot of attention every year:

The studded tan boots. Oh, if only they still made these, they always go down a treat every autumn/winter with you lovely lot!

They’re by the brand Ted & Muffy which used to be called Duo back when I bought these boots, and all their boots come in 21 calf sizes as well as the shoe size. They’ve honestly been one of my best buys ever and were worth every penny. If you scroll down I’ve picked some tan boots options as I know they’re always sought after whenever I wear these ones…!

And finally: The day I wore this outfit we went and did our weekly grocery shop in “big Tesco” (quite unusual for me as I usually get it delivered). A lovely girl called Natalie came up and asked me if I had a blog as she thought she’d recognised me… How nice was that?! I’ve had people ask me on social media if I was in London/Exeter/Santorini that day because they’d seen me out and about, and I’ve always been upset that they didn’t come and say hello. So if you ever see me anywhere, do come and say hi, I’m quite nice really(!)

Weird coincidence: We turned into the next aisle after chatting to Natalie only to bump into an old work colleague I hadn’t seen in several years…

…Whose name is also Natalie. Spooky-doos.

I think this is a lovely outfit. I enjoy the more subdued tones of the sweater and skirt, the bold colors of the scarf and the completely different look of the leopard print hat. Very cute combo. I have a pair of brown boots that are my go to for cooler weather, but they are getting a bit worn (not being real leather, they give up much faster), so maybe I'll be looking for a pair at the end of season to replace those. Have a great weekend, Catherine. – Amy

I think brown boots are so much more versatile than black, Amy – my black boots rarely get worn, unlike the tan ones!! Thanks so much sweetie x
