Cozy Oxblood Cable Knit at Sunset

Cosy Oxblood Cable Knit at Sunset

So I have finally succumbed to the oxblood trend…!

I know this knit looks more red in the pictures, but it is in actual fact a very, very deep red. And I love how it’s long enough to keep my bum warm (essential in our cold office in the winter) and has pockets for me to plunge my hands into. It’s that time of year when my hands are getting cold enough to need gloves, but I just won’t accept it’s that cold until much nearer Christmas.

I did really like it paired with my vintage 70s shirt – kind of an old man at Christmas look 😉

Happy Monday everyone – I hope this week brings good things for you all!

Very cute preppy look. I love the stripe socks with the shoes.

Hooray for cuffed jeans and oxfords – love! My favourite is the incredibly gorgeous print of the shirt. The colour of the sweater and your hair are so rich and lovely in the hazy light. xo

    "Oxblood?!?!" "yes Jon, that's dark red/marooooon.." 🙂

Looks very cosy and really nice with that 70s shirt! Finally I can get all my oxblood and plum colours out of the wardrobe from last winter 😀

    Nice blog 😉

I am loving all the rich reds and plums which are around this season. The Nars polish looks great against the oxblood. Finally I find a blog for women of my age!

I adore that grey polish with the "oxblood" (maroon!). It looks so chic. How did you do your hair today? Is it just teased and pulled back?

    • 23 October 2012 / 10:20 pm

Thanks, Franziska my lovely! Yes it's teased at the crown with the front bit brushed forward – I used a springclip (dunno what you call them?? like a slide with a spring catch thingy on it?!) to tie back the top section, leaving the rest loose. Sometimes it goes in beautifully, other times not… I give up then and do something else, haha! C xo

Love the whole look, but shoes and socks combo is my fave.

Great cardigan. Looks terrific on you. What color polish are you wearing? Love it.

I love that cardigan and your hair is gorgeous!! I love meeting other fashion bloggers that are past 20 something. 🙂

Love the knit, colour and length! Funny – as we get a little older we think about keeping our bottoms warm – I have done for a while! Am also trying to resist gloves for as long as possible but not sure how much longer I can hold out!

I love your cardigan! Grandpa cardigans are the best because you can wear them so many ways. I don't know if I want to call something "oxblood" yet. Is it burgundy, maroon, oxblood?? LOL. It's such a funny word. Hope you had a great weekend! <3

It isn't particular becoming, is it, Toni…???? But sometimes I quite like the fact that a trend is presented as something new by renaming it. I think it was burgundy in the 90s – call it Oxblood and it's so 21st Century!!! Thanks hun xx

Love it! I haven't found anything except nail polish in oxblood that I truly love for myself. Love that gold orb that is following you around.

Such a cozy sweater – both in color and texture! I love cable knit sweaters but I've never managed to find one that's right for me. I always look kinda frumpy in them somehow.

    • 23 October 2012 / 9:52 pm

I have to admit I feel a bit frumpy too, Salazar – but I kinda go with it and pass it off as old man chic ;))) Thanks sweetie x
