It’s back. The phenomenon* that is the #iwillwearwhatilike link up has returned (*maybe that’s a slight exaggeration…)
[Reading time: 2 mins]
It’s a new month, it’s a new season, it’s the new start that I promised last week. It’s been away for nearly five months, but September felt like the right time to restart the weekly link up. You know, schools going back, end of the summer (which, to be fair, just reminds me of lockdown seeing as the good weather literally started the day that Boris told us all to stay home), time I got my arse in gear… you get my drift.
So let’s just get down to business and talk outfits!

I’ve actually purchased a few new bits over the summer. No summer dresses strangely – I had plenty of those – but lots of basics in neutral colours. Things that’ll take me through to autumn. In fact, looking at the pieces I’ve bought, we’re talking all shades of olive, khaki and brown with white and ecru thrown in.
Is this a new me? Probably not… more just a want to get the basics right, then build with colour on top.
Of course a lot of this is due to finally getting back to fitness as explained in my “new start” post last week. Although I can fit into 80% of my wardrobe (I’m working on the remaining 20%…), the excitement of being trimmer still made want to get a few new bits to celebrate and enjoy the process of fitting into my regular size more easily.
Apart from the cream knitted top which was a recent sale buy, I got the check trousers and the oversized stripe sweater (actually from the menswear section) many months ago and have worn them quite a lot.
The sweater arms are far too long, but when you love stripes in pink and green THIS much you just gotta put up with warm hands and wrists, haven’t you?!
What are YOU excited about for the new season? And what are you currently wearing these days – has lockdown changed your everyday style? Comment below…!
Stay safe, XOXO
P.S. Do add your outfits to this week’s link up – and if you’ve added a link to here or my button to your post you may be featured in the next Women Who Wear What They Like post!

What a fabulous outfit! The colours are perfect. I’m really looking forward to wearing jeans, long sleeves and boots again LOL. But it’s still way too hot for all that over here in Portugal. I’ve just bought a fabulous new pair of trainers too but it’s even a bit too hot to wear those!
Hugs

Oh gosh I’d love to have the too-hot problem, Suzy!! 😀
Enjoy your trainers when you DO get to wear them… and thank you! x
I just love your striped sweater! Your pants are so much fun too!
Author
Thanks Laura, I’m so in love with the colours <3
I love the striped sweater! I have really long arms so I could probably wear men’s sweaters (my husband says I have monkey arms!). Seeing your trainers has reminded me that I have a pair of blush pink ones that I haven’t worn…time to give them an outing! Thanks for linking up!

Hehe Keith says EXACTLY the same about my long arms, Emma – yet even then the sleeves were super long on me!!
I hadn’t worn my pink trainers in ages either, made a nice change from white I thought. And thank you! x
It’s wonderful to read your lovely posts and thank you so much for hosting the party! I especially love the cream woven top you are wearing. So very pretty. Have a great week, Catherine!
Author
Aww Debbie thank you, and to you! x
So glad you’ve started this back up, Catherine. I loved that I discovered people through this in the past. In fact I think some of the best connections I’ve made online in the blogging world have come from your blog.
I’m hoping to start writing again on my own blog too this month fingers crossed.
Looking fabulous as always xo

Jacqui I just hope I can keep it [linking] up this time!! C x
Great to see this outfit post. As always you feature great colour combinations….and green is a big favourite of mine. I am however in love with your grandmother’s ring!!
Author
Thank you Erika! My mum was having a bit of a sort out of her own jewellery and she asked if I liked it as it wasn’t really her style. I don’t remember seeing it before and loved it, so I’m super happy!
Great to have you bacl Catherine! Welcome! Been really looking forward to your return. That being said funny enough I did not buy any dresses either. Just also been very much into casual basics just like you. xo
Author
Aww thank you Sabina! It’s funny, for me this summer just hasn’t been a dresses kind of summer due to all the turmoil and lockdown. Just felt a bit wrong?!!
I bought olive pants and espadrille wedges!!!! Haven’t wear the wedges but the pants are on my every week rotation!!! (and I bought them at Costco!!!)
I wore them on my bday with a cream cami, gold sandals and leopard print belt. Last week with a white gauze top and off-white sandals and yesterday with a CH red flowery knit top and black Tory Burch sandals.
I can’t wait to wear the wedges but I hurt my ankle and prefer not to wear anything high heeled right now…
LOOOOVE your outfit!!!!!
Author
Oh no about your ankle, Pilar! Hope it gets better soon and you get some wear out of your wedges…!
Thank you my lovely x
Glad to see you back, Catherine! And congrats on achieving much of your weight loss / fitness goals!

Oh that’s so sweet of you to say, thanks so much Michelle 😀 x
So glad you’re back!! And looking super cute in your checks and stripes! Oddly enough, I’ve been loving dresses–with nowhere to wear them! Lol! But my main outfit consists of shorts and tops for now moving to jeans and sweaters shortly. So keep the inspiration coming, Catherine!!

Aww thanks Jodie! Good to be back properly x
Welcome back – ditto on how much you were missed! Love the pointelle sweater and those green checked trousers – such perfect colors for you. Transitioning to fall colors while continuing lightweight fabrics round here for another month – THEN, bring on the tweed and tall leather boots! I’ve also got that 20% of wardrobe that I either can’t get into or would look SO much better if I lost 10 pounds…but the new items and things you can get BACK into bring such joy, don’t they! Thanks for hosting – I’ve got another post dropping tomorrow I’ll include then.
Author
Aww bless you Mary Katherine – that’s so nice to hear! That’s a big yes on the joy from getting back into clothes I haven’t worn in years. Can’t wait to put more outfits together…! xx
Great to see you back!
Author
Thank you so much Gail x
Yes! super excited about the new season! I just finished my last Summer Colored Upcycle today and ready to post it! Because now I am onto more subdued colors….however, it does not cool down here in Northern California until November!

Well then I reckon you definitely have some heat to spare and send our way, Eva…!! heehee 😉
Welcome back and thanks for bringing back the linkup!
This is such a fabulous look on you! Loving the cream top with the pretty details!
Author
Aww thanks lovely Ellibelle x
It’s great to see the linkup being back. Yes, the lock down is a pain. We aren’t build for living in cages. Since it started you don’t see many nicely dressed people anymore. Lounge wear all over the place.
Author
I’m not sure there were that many smartly dressed people round my way anyway, Nicole… nothing seems to have changed on that front, lol!!
Welcome bak to the best link party ever! And this outfit is perfect for bringing back the #iwillwearwhatilike party! I love your trousers and the crochet top is just beautiful. Plus that sweater! How fun! I really like you hair in pigtails, too! Yay! So cute.
Shelbee
Author
Ohhhh you’re too kind, Shelbee – thank you!!! Hehe I didn’t really think about the pigtails (bunches as I call them)… I guess it’s my go-to hairstyle for being at home. Keeping it real and all that 😉 x
Welcome back. You were missed. Thanks for hosting and I hope that you are doing well. Have a great week.
Author
That’s so kind of you, thank you Patrick! x
Love this outfit! I was just looking at Mango, as its one of my fav shops! I saw that sweater top yesterday. THe stitching and design caught my eye and I love it with your plaid pants. Not quite Fall here, but I do love Fall fashion
jess xx
Author
I love Mango too, Jess – I absolutely adore this top! Definitely feeling autumnal here… I’m pretty sure summer has gone for good 🙁
Thank you sweetie x
Yay! Good to have the link up back. I’ve added a garden post? Is that ok? Otherwise, just remove Catherine. A huge big welcome back to you xx
Author
Yes anything goes now Laurie – any subject as I decided to end the ShareAllLinkUp and merge it with this one!
And thank you, feels good to be back into a proper routine again x
