16 Unmissable Reads, the Best of the Blogosphere (October 2019)

16 Unmissable Reads, the Best of the Blogosphere (October 2019) | Not Dressed As Lamb

In my Best of the Blogosphere this month I have a brown bears webcam, afternoon tea on a London bus, VB having her makeup done and more!

(In case you’ve not seen these posts before my Unmissable Reads are a monthly round-up of things I’ve seen, watched and liked in the blogosphere that I’m sure you’ll love too.)

Dare I say the countdown to Christmas has begun? We’ve already got Christmas adverts on TV, Halloween is on Thursday and the clocks changed in the UK this weekend (boo!). So I’ve decided not to beat ’em but to join ’em with a few links to Halloween reads. Not only that but eco and environmental topics feature a lot this month, and then on the total opposite side of the coin we have Victoria Beckham – without makeup (ish) – having her makeup done by Queen MUA Lisa Eldridge.

And as always, quite a few very heartfelt and personal blog posts I read too which you mustn’t miss.

Do have a read of these great links – you never know who or what you might discover that makes your day/week/month!

What links did you like – and have you found any fabulous new blogs to follow? Comment below…!

I love a bit of cake porn, and this Instagram feed from cake baker Darci has me drooling (and in awe of her skills).

Yes, yes, YES. Mattie discusses why earning money as an influencer is a feminist action.

I’m obsessed with watching the brown bears livecam at Brooks Falls and the Riffles bearcam (both in Alaska) – catch them before they hibernate for the winter.

Some of the prettiest painted pumpkin designs I’ve seen this year.

I salute this tiny Himalayan village which has banned the use of single-use plastics to protect their stunning scenery and environment.

Do NOT miss the incredible clothes knitted (yes, knitted!) to become magically invisible against their backgrounds by Nina Dodd Knits. Amazing talent.

Elizabeth has gathered 36 fantastic tips on self-care from contributing bloggers and content creators (including yours truly).

I would LOVE to have afternoon tea on an old Routemaster bus like Lyndsay did in her home town of Brighton.

I’ve just discovered the stunning aerial and travel photography by professional photographer Henry Do… Europe has never looked more beautiful than from the air.

These 10 small ways you can show kindness are very simple and very easy. I’ve already been trying to do no. 1 more in my life.

When even your anxiety has anxiety“. Lisa talks about how she addresses her anxiety – without medicine or alcohol.

Hayley has written in support of the old school blogger (and I fully support her).

The absolute BEST – and cutest! – Halloween Joker costume I have seen so far. His expression is everything.

Lisa Eldridge does Victoria Beckham’s makeup (and she sort of does Lisa’s). Check out VB’s incredible pre-makeup complexion.

This is too late for us with Suki(!), but Jenni got a white sofa despite having two (dark-haired) dogs and explains how she retrained them to stay off it.

Your unmissable reads posts really are my favorites! I am seriously reconsidering resurrecting my Little Bits of Inspiration series that I was writing way back in the beginning of my blogging days. I was writing them when I lost inspiration, but now I am realizing they are the stuff that inspiration is made of! And I may need to get back to it. It was a very similar concept to this except I was sharing 5 inspiring things that I found on the internet and I was trying to do it weekly. It was great fun. Thanks for inspiring my inspiration!
