Featuring the worst pictures of 2018 rather than the best outfits, I always forgo the “best outfits from the last 12 months” type of post to bring you images of me looking a right [blank] instead. From stupid faces to stupid poses and from photobombers to scene stealers, they’re all here. In fact this is my absolute favourite post of the year, every year… it’s one of the few that I go back and read regularly when I need a guaranteed laugh!
And yes, I know that laughing at my own outtakes is like laughing at my own jokes…!
[Today’s #iwillwearwhatilike link up has moved to tomorrow – Wednesday – as my bloopers post always goes out on New Year’s Day. It’ll be back to Tuesdays as normal next week.]
There are several appearances from Riley, but none this year from my family who usually make it their mission to photobomb at least one shoot. Note to my sisters, nieces and nephews for this year: Must do better in 2019…
I’ve got a record 30 bloopers this time (including three GIFs of multiple outtakes) and I didn’t feature ALL of the ones I had, either. Hope you like them as much as much as I always do!
WHICH WAS YOUR FAVOURITE OUTTAKE? TELL ME IN THE COMMENTS (AND HERE’S WISHING YOU A VERY HAPPY AND HEALTHY 2019)!
P.S. This post would have been up HOURS ago were if it weren’t for the fact that my WiFi decided to drop off before I’d saved anything (my own stupid fault, I know): I’d practically written and composed the WHOLE post, and I lost the WHOLE LOT. Autosave didn’t work, I didn’t save, I tried everything (and I mean everything) to get it back but no, the page froze and only exiting it was going to get me out of it. Upon refresh I was presented with a lovely blank, white post. I was so cross I went out for a long walk with my boys in the sunshine to make me feel better – NOT the way I wanted to start the New Year. So this is the Bloopers 2018 2.0 post, if you like…!
Onto the bloopers…
Fur hoods are evil, I tell you! No one is safe! Original post >>
The delights of walking a dog and trying to take photos at the same time… not the most glamorous part of a shoot. Original post >>
If you’re British (more likely southern England) and of a certain age you might call this a “Jimmy Hill”. Or say that I’ve got an “itchy Jimmy”. To everyone else, it’s a simple case of an itchy chin. Original post >>
You can always tell the shoots where I got bored of my usual poses because this happens – and they end up here as GIFs. There’s more where that came from… Original post >>
Same shoot, and I’m either being sassy, trying my best duck face or having a good think. Original post >>
If you get an eyelash extension lash in your eye, it HURTS, I tell thee. Original post >>
Underneath that floral jacket she was wearing an Elsa-from-Frozen dress. Talk about a double upstaging. Original post >>
In the winter I regularly get earrings caught in knitted scarves. I never learn. Original post >>
I mean, could he LOOK any more regal and BE any more in my way? He also looks incredibly smug about how beautiful he is, though it’s justified. Original post >>
Dying my hair and photographing the process, that was fun! This was my reaction after Keith replied to my “How do I look?” question. Original post >>
Oh, my stunning floaty UK Blog Awards dress! And oh, the posture: sooooo elegant. In the middle of a London park, as well. Original post >>
An outtake of “the wind got me” is obligatory in any fashion blogger outtakes post. Original post >>
I think I was trying to get my necklace out of my hair, but somehow my armpits became the star of the show. Original post >>
Another day, another huge dose of grace and poise. Original post >>
I can’t complain about The Summer of 2018, but boy we had some bright days (my poor British eyes can’t take it). Original post >>
We usually say hello to people passing by to stop them staring or asking us what we’re doing, but we got zero response from those two. Miserable buggers. Original post >>
I’m sure this is some sort of yoga pose, or something Daniel-Son did in The Karate Kid. Original post >>
Oh look there’s my best friend Julie! Hey Julie, let’s go for an impromptu coffee! Yeah I’m swell! Ain’t life grand?! Original post >>
The glasses make you MUCH more intelligent, of course. Original post >>
This is one I’ll be practising in 2019, I’m sure. Original post >>
There’s something about wearing a really beautiful, ladylike dress that makes me want to muck about. It seems to happen a lot. Original post >>
Riley is part Saluki (Persian Greyhound), and this pose is known among greyhound owners as the “gradiator”. It’s one of the most endearing things about him (and why we fell in love with him in the first place). Original post >>
What the hell is going on with my feet here?! Original post >>
The perils of having long hair and wearing long earrings: the two often end up in a fist fight. Original post >>
I SWEAR I saw a 50-foot killer bee out of the corner of my eye. Original post >>
What, you’ve never played dog tennis? It’s a two-player game, and the aim of the game is to keep a hold of your doggo with cuddles for as long as possible before the other player manages to entice him/her over to them by offering heaps of love and attention. Doggo goes back and forth between the two players until he tires and walks off. The winner is whoever last petted doggo. Original post >>
So this is pretty typical: Keith decides to take a photo from a low angle, Riley see this as an opportunity to stand RIGHT in front of the lens. Original post >>
It was the middle of December, we thought we might come up short… Original post >>
I swear Keith leans permanently to one side (or maybe it’s me?!) Original post >>
I was so shocked at how my face looked lying down that THIS was the initial reaction. Keith still looks great of course… Original post >>
