Another day, another holiday outfit post!
On this day we went down to the old port at Fira, Santorini’s capital, via cable car down the side of the caldera… Not a bundle of fun for someone who’s terrified of heights. Thankfully I lived to tell the tale and we enjoyed a lovely afternoon down at the seafront watching wooden sailing ships, drinking local beer and eating fresh, stuffed calamari which was dee-licious.
(My husband thought it would be funny to film my reaction as we went back up in the cable car. I tried my absolute best not to look scared, but the resulting looks of terror and nausea on my face are priceless.)
The weather during our first week was a little cloudy overall but still very hot when the sun came out, so a classic white tee and my favourite cropped coral pants with the suede cuffed sandals (last seen in Wednesday’s ‘boho chic’ post) made up the perfect comfy outfit for the day. I added a touch of colour to my hair with the red bandanna and took my mahoosive blue leather tote: Most days I needed a huge bag to carry the two DSLRs we use and the spare lenses, as well as the usual stuff a girl takes with her. Let’s just say both my calves and my shoulders got a good workout during our holiday from all the walking up and down steps and carrying heavy bags…!
The wooden sailing boat you can see in the next-to-last photo is like the one we went on a few days later. They usually do trips out to visit the volcano islands and the hot springs as well as trips out at sunset to watch the sun going down.
If all of that doesn’t make you want to go to Santorini, nothing will 😉
Tell me – do you have to brave cable cars yourself, or are they not a problem for you? Do you make yourself do things on holiday for the experience, even though it frightens you (like I do)?! Do tell me in the comments or tweet me @notlamb!

After following all your Santorini posts, I've now added a visit there to my bucket list. It looks absolutely amazing! As, my lovely lady, do you.
As for fear of heights, etc. I can climb up anything, I'm also fine looking down, it's the actually getting down that terrifies me. I once got stuck at the top of Mount Teide in Tenerife. Three hours it took for me to work up the courage to climb down. I'm such a clutz that I always think I'm going to slip 🙁
Much love

Thanks so much Victoria! x
I like cropped pants because they really let the shoes shine and isn't dressing really all about the shoes anyway?!

Amoudi bay! Which I had to type three times to get my autocorrect to accept! One of my favourite lunch spots on the planet!
Aww we didn't make it to Amoudi, Kirsten – though we're thinking of going again next year so we get another chance to go…!
This is a perfect holiday outfits. Even i'm wearing that kind of teens and shirts when i'm on holiday. You looking so beautiful and charming in this outfits.

Very cute Catherine, I love the plait and the bandana in your hair! I have posted this week about my honeymoon wardrobe, and also went for plaits and simple looks. xx
Aww Porcelina thank you so much! xx
I love cable cars, Catherine.
I think it is the thrill of the ride…and the childhood memories of James Bond films! So exciting.
I was scared of heights until I was talked into going up on a tree-trek this summer, that was an eye opening experience.
I think the shock has cured me!
I think you look SO cute in this outfit, and I mean it in the British sense of the word (if that makes sense to you).
Your bandana/headband and that blue bag are genius touches, pulling in the colours of your surroundings (but of course you know that).
Simple, uncluttered and gorgeous!

Yesss!!!!!! I always think of the Roger Moore Bond film too with the cable car!! Thank you sweetie, and yes I got what you meant about it being cute…! 😉
Bravo going in the cable car. I'm not good with heights either so I know how you feel! On our honeymoon we did a hot air balloon ride which I was terrified on the way up and on the way down but surprising ok during the ride bit even though I was gripping onto TallBrownFox the whole time!
Oh gosh I've always to do a hot air balloon, Jacqueline – not sure if I could cope with it though!!
Wow!She looks amazing.Cool!
thank you Helen x
Ah Santorini is on my list of places I need to visit. Very jealous you went! Love this simple out- the colour of the capri pants is gorgeous. I went in a cable in Barcelona in August. I was a little bit nervous I admit!

It was on my bucket list too, Sophie… it's now crossed off! I went on a roller coaster in Barcelona about 20 years ago – it was on the edge of the mountain – and that was the last time I ever went on one!!
Thank you so much sweetie x
Beautiful 🙂
thank you Ivana…!
