I couldn’t have August end and just let #iwillwearwhatilike fizzle out, could I…?!
So many lovely ladies have enjoyed my Instagram campaign so much (not least myself) that I had to think of a way to continue the positive vibes and wonderful new relationships #iwillwearwhatilike has created. A daily theme was a lot of work, admittedly – so how about a weekly link up?
I’ve been toying with the idea of hosting a link up party for quite a while, and launching one now seems the perfect time to keep the momentum and the buzz of #iwillwearwhatilike going. (If you have no clue as to what I’m talking about, have a read of the original announcement of the campaign here.) A link up party is the obvious solution: You don’t have to be a blogger to take part as you can link up Instagram posts or blog posts.
So – starting next Monday, 7th September, I’ll be the host of the #iwillwearwhatilike link up! Although it’s generally for the over 30s (and that means over 40s, 50s, etc. as well) to link up outfits that show how they – you’ve guessed it – wear what they like, there’ll be no actual age restriction. I may also throw in a theme, but again it won’t be mandatory. I’ll simply feature my favourite outfit linked up from someone that did follow the theme (does that make sense?) the following week.
All you need to do is come back next Monday at 3pm British Summer Time (GMT+1) when the link up will go live on my new blog post. And if you’d like a theme, how about…
COLOUR! Show me your most colourful outfits or accessories 🙂

I am a very new over-40 blogger and would love to link up, so hopefully I can figure out how to do it! I have been following your #iwillwearwhatilike campaign and I love the message and inspiration behind it. I really like the color theme and the shoes theme, but why not combine them for a third theme of COLORED SHOES! Not just any old brown, black, tan, white, or gray shoe will do, but shoes in rich or bright hues that scream "Look at me!" I am getting super excited about my new blogging adventure! Awesome! I'm so excited this will be continuing and I'll definitely be contributing. How about 'Sheer Clothing' for a theme. I recently read another over fifty blogger say in a comment section that older women should use caution when wearing sheer clothing because it could 'age' them and I was absolutely mortified because I have a ton of sheer tops in my closet. I actually wear them as extra coverups…over tank tops etc. if I don't want too much flesh showing. Maybe she was thinking more of sheer tops where they show their bra underneath…I don't know. But it bothered me.
Amy I'm so pleased, it was lovely to get to know you via the hashtag! Sheer is a great idea, I'll keep that in mind too. I say BALLS to whoever said that sheer could age you… Even if it did (though I don't know how), who cares??!!!!!!!! x
I always wondered why you haven't ever hosted a linkup so I'm very excited about you starting one! And of course if HAD to be colour!
