Ode to Spring | Checked Duster Coat and Floral Co-ords by George at Asda

Spring style: White check coat with floral top and leggings
Not Dressed As Lamb
Hello, spring! I am so pleased it’s March. I thought I’d celebrate with a full-on springtime outfit and share some gorgeous florals with a big smattering of fresh white checks today – all from George at Asda.

I am very excited about this outfit, and I have to bow down to Asda for creating some truly swoon-worthy pieces that are on trend, very flattering and unbelievably affordable.

I will admit I chose the pieces blind (sort of) –  I was asked what I liked from their new range and from a few small thumbnails I mentioned I liked the white check duster coat from one image, and the floral scuba fabric top and coordinating scuba leggings from another. I was sent all three to review – not for one second did I think I’d wear them all together, but amazingly they worked so well as a complete outfit.

I have written this post in collaboration with George at Asda. All content is original, however, and opinions are my own and 100% honest.

I haven’t lived near an Asda for many years, so although I used to buy from George long ago I really haven’t checked out what they have for ages (it hadn’t occurred to me to go to their website). And not forgetting the grand total of the three pieces: Just £41 full price, but as the top and leggings are now on sale the total of this outfit is just £29! The value for money of this range is unbelievable – the quality is really, really good. I don’t think you’d ever guess this was a supermarket range, nor that the whole outfit was such a low price.

By the way, if you’ve never tried scuba fabric trousers before (I hadn’t), I can thoroughly recommend them for the comfiest trousers ever, after pyjamas of course…!

I can safely say I will definitely be shopping online at George from now on – are you a George at Asda shopper? How have you found their range? (And if you’re overseas you might be pleased to know they do international delivery!)

Wow! I love that coat. A little 80's, a little preppy, but it really works and it's a great cut. Well done George! I love how you've mixed all the prints and colours!

Actually now you say it, it is a little 80s isn't it Rachel…?!! I think the duster coat shape is generally a very 80s shape. Thank you thank you xx

Wow, some serious bargains and impressive pattern combining! I'm always scared to do it myself but you make it look easy 🙂 I thought I was maybe over the print trouser but those leggings are fab!

    • 3 March 2015 / 6:04 pm

Hehe I thought that I was over floral trousers too – but no, not when they're scuba fabric, Steff!! They were so comfy and I did that uggggggghhhhhhhh noise when I first put then on ;))

Awww Josie what a wonderful comment, thank you so much!! I do try and mix it up a bit with (mostly) affordable high street bits and then just the odd investment piece. But I still don't buy designer – just the slightly more expensive high street brands (it's designer to me)!

what a fabulous look, all three pieces on their own are fantastic but together, I love this

    • 3 March 2015 / 6:01 pm

It was certainly a surprise that they all worked together, Linda! Thank you sweetie xx

    • 3 March 2015 / 6:00 pm

Oh JJ they are SOOOOOOOOO comfy! Like you wouldn't believe!!! Thanks hun x

  9. 2 March 2015 / 9:33 pm

I like the coat. However, on anything I click and choose is not international delivery.

    • 3 March 2015 / 6:00 pm

Thanks Martina – but that's very odd, I checked the website myself and it says International Delivery at the top, plus the delivery details of each does say international from what I can see. Maybe contact @georgeatasda on Twitter if you're having problems…?

  10. 2 March 2015 / 8:51 pm

Those prices are indeed very low for such beautiful things.

I know, right?!!!! Then they've been reduced…! You'll be seeing more of them this year, I can guarantee it, Greetje x

love love love! what a fabulous co-ord that works perfectly with the pattern mixing of that rather fabulous jacket (you know me i love a good jacket/coat) I wish my damn spending ban would hurry up and end as i would be in asda like a shot for that swoon-worthy monochromatic beauty..
Oh and can we just take a moment for the wonderful hair day you are having here? PRETTYYY!!

    • 3 March 2015 / 5:57 pm

Haha I don't know how you do that spending ban thing, Rachel!! I think I'd be wanting to be more stuff! And thank you soooooo much, you're such a love :)) =blush=

  12. 2 March 2015 / 7:38 pm

Fantastic! Great mix of prints and that jacket is to die for; I love grid print this spring!

    • 3 March 2015 / 5:57 pm

Grid print!! That's a much better description. Thank you Gracey my lovely xx

  13. 2 March 2015 / 6:44 pm
