How to Wear a Leopard Print Coat | With Jeans and a Baseball Cap

Leopard print coat with baseball cap

I think this is the easiest winter dressing gets for me: a statement coat, jeans and a hat.

My Zara two-tone leopard and black coat is on its third winter and I don’t love it any less than I did when I bought it. I remember I had the idea of wearing a plain black baseball cap with it last winter but never got round to it – I like a good contrast in an outfit so the tomboy style of a cap with a full-on lady coat has always appealed to me. (Why does adding the word “lady” before any other word always make it sound a bit dodgy, or is it just me?!) You don’t get much more of a contradiction than a hat worn by American sportsmen worn with a style of coat I still associate with Bette Lynch of Coronation Street 😉

Although I’ve paired my leopard with blue denim and black (i.e. dark neutrals), I do love pairing it with winter brights as well. Do you consider leopard a neutral (and wear it as such)? Let me know in the comments…!

Great styling. I love the tension between cap and coat and the emphasis on the coat. The rest of the outfit lets the coat take the stage. Well done. A beautiful combination.

I think leopard print is definitely going to be around for some time, it's so popular this year again. The coat is fantastic, I would wear it with black, denin, or camel

Camel would definitely give it a softer look, Laurie – you're right! Thank you x

Another vote for leopard as a neutral. Unfortunately I went through a phase many years ago where I went a bit overboard with it and now I avoid it…

Oh no, Sara – that sounds like over eating a food you love them becoming sick of it!! Hopefully it'll go out of style then you can bring it back 🙂

Absolutely consider leopard as neutral, I love pairing it with fancy colors and textures 😀
Adore the baseball cap, this is one of those things I would think would never work, but it actually looks amazing ^^

Clever, ain't I, Keit…?!!!! Heehee thank you hun, I wasn't 100% sure it WOULD work, I'm so glad it did! xx
