What I Wore to London Fashion Week | Vintage Tapestry Coat

Vintage tapestry coat, red brogues
So… continuing with what I wore to London Fashion Week! This outfit is all about the fabulous vintage tapestry coat that was very kindly loaned to me for LFW by The House of Pandora, a British online outlet offering an amazing selection of vintage fashion from around the world. It’s such a beautiful piece – incredibly thick and warm as you can probably imagine, just right for a soggy cold day up in the smoke. It’s a teeny bit big for me, but with the belt and its stunning buckle (check THAT beauty out!), I was able to pull it in without it looking too baggy.

And those of you who read my post questionning Heels vs Flats for Fashion Week from last week may have observed that I did do flats, but at least bright red patent brogues are statement flats! I could walk, and was comfy – that’s a win-win in my book.

The was my fashion week workhorse, and I thought all the reds, browns and corals worked so well together, picking out the colours of this amazing coat. Shame I’m not keeping it, but it’s still available to buy if you’d like it yourself. (As well as their online shop, The House of Pandora can be found at selected markets and vintage fairs around the country – follow them on Twitter @houseofpandora for updates. The pieces are second-to-none and if you’re a vintage fan like me, I guarantee you’ll be wanting so many of them… apologies in advance.)

Two more LFW outfits to go, with a bit of a twist on the last one; you’ll have to wait and see what that is. Any fans of vintage out there? Any favourite pieces you’ve acquired – let me know in the comments!

(These photos weren’t taken at LFW as you can probably tell; sometimes you have to recreate the outfit when you get home as it’s either too hectic on the day or you haven’t got someone with you to take your photo on your camera at a convenient time.)

Yes, great outfit. But the shoes do finish this look off.
    Nice coat, great shoes.

I am not sure how I missed this post! Amazing coat! The shoes are clever. Despite the coat being such a show stopper, I really think the shoes "make" this outfit. Beautiful!

Hehe I did it again – style *and* comfort, Deborah! It can be done…! Thank you so much x

Sorry for the delay getting back to you Kelly – desperately trying to catch up!! These were from Asos but I checked again, and they are definitely totally sold out now I'm afraid. I've had another search of the interwebs, and the only pair I can find are these red patent Oxford shoes on Etsy – a bit pricey, but they will make them in your size. They're the nearest I can find – lots of vaguely similar ones but they're either not that bright red, or they're not patent.

      Good luck! Catherine x

They're a nice contrast to all the warm colours, aren't they Lauren? Thank you xx

That coat is absolutely stunning. Also – your hair is just gorgeous. I'm a natural, lighter redhead (although I have it died a dark auburn right now), and I'm taking these pictures the next time I visit my stylist!

Bonnie thank you – such a compliment coming from you with your gorgeous hair!! Ironic that I've always thought that I'd like to have your hair colour… how weird. xx

Oh, I really like the brogues, which surprises me as I'm usually a "heels all the way" girl.

I kinda am too Char – but my brogues collection is so extensive I don't think I'm totally true to the cause!! Thanks hun x

I wish for you to be able to keep this beautiful coat, Catherine! It is just perfect.
Your hair is beautiful with your headband, love it!

Beautiful coat, and I like the way you styled your hair here – looks great with the vintage piece! I love the red shoes addition too!

Thanks Natalia – I haven't done the 60s black headband thing for a while… seemed apt for this coat! x

  12. 25 February 2014 / 5:02 pm

That's an incredible coat – looks like one of a kind, and you look glorious in it. xox.

Catherine, Love how the sweater you have underneath matches perfectly the color in the coat, which is lovely by the way. Also the shoes brighten the outfit as well. 🙂

    • 26 February 2014 / 8:42 pm

Do you know the sweater wasn't planned Jess – it was one of two I'd taken with me, and the other was black. It was pure coincidence that it picked out colours in the coat…! Thank you my lovely xx

Hopefully I've featured enough colourful coats to encourage you, Monica…? Thank you xx
