Photo Tips Friday will be back in two or three weeks when I’ve prepared some more posts for you all, plus!
I have some exciting things coming up this week, not least a *giveaway* with TEN prizes up for grabs – come back to check it out on Sunday! In the meantime…
Isn’t it great to fall back in love with something in your wardrobe that you were either going to throw out or just hadn’t worn in ages? This sweater had actually been consigned to my nightwear drawer along with my PJs – it was comfy and loose but was cut far too low at the front for daytime to look presentable. (Don’t worry, I always layered it with something underneath…!) I’ve realised the low v-neck look has now long since passed, with all the round neck sweaters and Peter Pan collars so many of us love so much.
So for some unknown reason, a couple of weeks ago I spontaneously decided to unpick the annoyingly tight wide ribbing at the bottom (which had started to come undone via a hole anyway) and simply wear it backwards. I love how it makes the back the feature of the outfit, though you get a little preview of the vivid striped top at my shoulders from the front. It does tend to fall off my shoulders a lot, but I’ll forgive it for the “Kids from Fame” feeling I get…!
I hope you all have a fabulous weekend π

LOVE the bright stripes and halo braid!
What a fun and colourful outfit. And love the nails!
Oh wow on the nails. So cool!
I love the way you made the back of the outfit the focal point. I think that too often we do not worry about the way we look from behind and yet that is how so many people see us. Fabulous outfit.
Reinvention is so awesome. Nicely done and what a pop of color.
Best,
Nicole

Pink and floral print pants? I LOVE!
I love your hair style! It looks very chic, but keeps your hair out of your face. Definitely a win in my book. π
Love this outfit! I really like the way you styled those pants, and your accessories are spot on. Love your nails! So cute! xo
Darling outfit Catherine! I love the combination of prints and colors. I want that tank top π

The hot pink and your hair colour is such a great colour combination! The tank underneath the pink sweater really should be mine! You look fabulous, especially from the back!
Gorgeous pants! I enjoy your blog. Please take a look at my blog as well:

I love this look! No one else could do hot pink + milkmaid braids + floral and make it look so edgy and awesome. Backwards sweater with the vivid tank peeking out is similarly fantastic – your Fame reference is my favourite! – also loving the star earrings, the pattern of your manicure against your pants, and those shoes. Seriously, Catherine, you are so cool.
You are officially too kind, Amber! I'm blushing… thank you sweetie! xxx
Oh Catherine, I so love this!!! This look is so you. That is my favorite thing about you.. you have your own thing going, no one else has it. The photography is phenom here, and I love your hair like this! I tried it on myself recently, not so good. Perhaps I'll try again. At any rate, you are so fun and beautiful!! xx Whitley
Whitley, how lovely are you????? Thank you hun, you're such a sweetheart! xo
Hi Catherine, thanks for the blog, honey I'm loving it!! Makes a change from the usual: skinny jeans, muted colours etc etc etc. Also the quality of our photos is great – clearly not a camera phone! Not everything to my taste, but you look great and am getting ideas. Excellent manicures! love, Nancy x
Thank you Nancy – what lovely compliments :)) So glad you're getting ideas, that's really great to hear! xx
The bright top looks great with the floral pants! And great way to really work your wardrobe!
I really love you in hot pink; it's just so pretty on you! Have a wonderful weekend, Catherine!
Thanks, Gracey – you too! xo
This entire outfit is just perfection! I love the floral pants, the pink top and the peekaboo striped shirt in the back. Your nails look amazing and all your accessories are just fabulous. LOVE!

Ah i love this look! Its such a great feeling when your renew something that you thought you would never wear again and I love how you have styled this sweater, creating such great detailing at the back is so unexpected and works incredibly well. I lovee how you have done your nails, amazing and so eye catching! π

The backwards, v-neck sweater over a tank top was a hot look when I was in 5th grade. I still like the look!
Your nails remind me of malted milk easter egg candies.
They are like that, aren't they Kasmira…?! Oh I need chocolate now *hungry*
Lovely trousers! I've been meaning to ask, do you live out in that beautiful countryside where so many of your pictures are set? And do you do your own manicures?
Thanks Femme – I do live in a small town (centre) but it's right on the edge of the countryside, so all the country lanes and fields are just down the road. So we either stop off in the car to take pictures on the way home from work, or go for a walk, usually at the weekend, and take them… depends what shoes I was wearing during the day π
Oh and yes I do my own manicures – it's my work lunch hour treat to myself! Thanks sweetie xo
You work the printed trousers better than anyone, Catherine. Such a vibrant, fun look today!
I love the printed pants. And nails!!! I had to mention the nails. π
