There is something about a bowler hat that gets people talking. I wore this outfit last weekend to a fundraising brunch and the number of comments I got started to amuse me after a while: some good, some bemused… I also had the obligatory Charlie Chaplin comments (to be expected).
I’m entering my first “Visible Monday” on Patti’s Not Dead Yet Style blog (and my second Trending Through the Decades: Accessories entry on Silverstyle). My bowler hat certainly got people talking – if you think about it, it’s one of the oldest style hats around that is still worn today. You can’t fade into the background wearing one, which is what Patti’s idea is all about. I do secretly love an item of clothing that gets people talking, whether they love it or hate it; I get a kick out of the fact that it’s quirky enough for them to comment. How much better is that than indifference?

This one reminds me of something Diane Keaton wore as Annie in Annie Hall. Just a tad more colourful though…
your accessories = those fab yellow nails= a smile
Such a charming and whimsical look! Definitely visible.
I love your bowler hat! It's definitely an attention-grabbing piece because you don't see people wearing that style anymore. But I think it looks fabulous on you!
I LOVE your outfit!! Those pants are amazing.

I love how you look in the bowler hat. Your nail color against the little blue bow in the 3rd photo is so pretty. Dawn Suitcase Vignettes xo
Your outfit is so dapper, love the bowler.
Oh man! That hat is so fabulous! And the polka dots in the bow-tie reflecting in the triple dots in the pants! Wonderful!
