The Catheriniest Raincoat of All Time

As promised in my Catheriniest dress of all time post, I now bring you the Catheriniest raincoat ever.

A rainbow, but not as you know it… I’m calling this a ‘Rainbow on Steroids’ print. Boden can always be relied on for wild prints and even wilder colour combinations, so when I saw this rainbow raincoat back at the end of last summer when it said “coming soon” I kept my beady eye on it. As I usually do, I waited patiently for it to go not just on sale but into the sales. Boden can be a bit pricey and I can be a bit frugal – or, as it’s known in my family, a bit “squeak squeak”. Coming from the sound of being tight, LOL.

Anyway I waited for the sales… and one day, go on sale it did. (Or did it went on sale? Ugh #grammardilemmas)

Cue frantic discussions of KEITH THIS RAINCOAT I’VE HAD MY EYE ON FOR AGES HAS JUST GONE INTO THE SALE AND IT’S TOTALLY ME AND I REALLY LOVE IT PLEASE CAN I GET IT PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEEEEEEEASE…

Now, that’s not to say I have to run everything past Keith before I buy it (we don’t live in 1952, he leaves me to make my own buying decisions thank GOD), but sometimes it makes it more exciting when something is SO amazing that you have to share the excitement with someone RIGHT THERE AND THEN.

So for me, when Keith gets the wife shoving a picture of some overly-colourful apparel in his face and a barrage of IT’S ON SALE IT’S ON SALE CAN I GET IT CAN I GET IT he knows me well enough to translate that as “You see this lovely item right here? I AM going to buy it, so when it arrives and I parade around the house wearing it, that means you shower me with compliments about said item and tell me what a wise and considered investment it was, mmkay?”

And to be fair to my January sales judgment, I have worn it almost every day since buying it. I’m just a girl, standing in front of other dog walkers, asking them to NOTICE me…

What are YOUR techniques for getting your partner’s approval/compliments/you know what I mean? Plus if you own or have seen a brighter raincoat, please tell me, I’m up for a trench-off…

P.S. I photographed this with the boots I intended to wear on our dog walk… we then realised it was too muddy in the field where Suki wanted to go. Thankfully I had my wellies in the car, so that’s why I’m wearing wellies in the reel I made on this day. And yes, Suki takes us for a walk, not the other way round.
