Styling a Classic Tailored Coat With Bold Winter Patterns #iwillwearwhatilike

I thought I was being clever mixing the two patterns in the sweater and the trousers – I had no idea I was also adding pinstripes into the mix…

It’s November, and that’s the month I traditionally get out The Navy Pinstriped Tailored Coat. It was from Jaeger (AW16 I think) and WOW it has been such a fabulous coat. I’m not sure it’ll ever date, and it’ll be one to keep and wear year after year.

So as I just think of it as “a navy coat” – I forget it’s patterned due to the pinstripes being so subtle – it’s the perfect neutral topper that I can (and do) throw over practically anything.

Nothing new here, these are all things I’ve worn before: a few times or loads of times. When I rediscovered the fabulous Nordic sweater I bought last winter I was SO pleased, and in fact it’s been a wrench to wear anything else the past couple of weeks. I’ve also fallen back in love with this baker boy hat I picked up a few years ago – it’s not vintage but looks it (hence me getting it). I haven’t worn it enough and resolve to change that.

But the outfit is, yet again, all about the full-on pattern mixing. Maybe I’m a one-trick pony? I do know that all the time my clothes are on heavy rotation (I have so many clothes and I need to rewear, rewear, rewear), I’m going to be mixing those patterns and clashing those prints, again and again, ad infinitum.

No apologies made, no ****s given… and that’s the way it SHOULD be!
