As I type I’m back to sweaters, hoodies and jeans. We’ve had the most torrential rain over the past week (as well as thunderstorms!) and I’ve been wearing all manner of warmer clothes. Though what usually happens is that I go places – I live in the town centre and I usually walk everywhere to run errands and do a bit of local high street shopping – and end up at the other end a hot, sweaty mess.
The searing record temperatures may have dropped dramatically but it stays warm and humid enough to make knitwear a bad choice for anything other than just sitting…!
So this week I can’t give you any purty summer dresses, instead it’s my now-on-sale-and-omg-look-how-much-it’s-reduced-by pink and camel leopard print sweater. I’ve gone weeks without wearing it, now I’ve worn it a few times in the cooler weather. I bought it for the full price of £49 (not like me, but it was a wise impulse purchase) and it’s now only £15 in the sale. As long as I’ve worn something a lot I don’t regret buying it at full price. I figure I wouldn’t have had it to wear all those times otherwise, so no regrets.
SHOP THE LOOK:
A lack of summer dress in this outfit meant I had to throw in some other summery stuff, so white sandals (worn loads this year) and white bag brightens the whole thing up and stops it going into autumn/winter territory – the thought of a black bag and/or black shoes with this just depresses me. Add a (very old) straw hat and big round sunglasses (I’ll allow myself the black in the odd accessory here and there) and it’s a simple summer sweater and jeans combo with a little pizazz thrown in.
I’ve also noticed from these photos that my faux tanning game is pretty strong at last (it’s taken me ages to self tan this summer) – if you want to know which self-tanning spray and which face bronzer I use then check out last week’s 12 Beauty Products I Am Absolutely Loving Right Now post. The face bronzer is ESPECIALLY amazing.
Hopefully I’ll get some summer dresses in before the summer is over – though who knows where the British weather is concerned?!
P.S. Do add your outfits to this week’s link up – and if you’ve added a link to here or my button to your post you may be featured in my bi-monthly Women Who Wear What They Like post!

Thank you for joining the #iwillwearwhatilike link up! This started as a campaign on Instagram in August 2015 where women over 30 wore everything on a journalist’s list of “inappropriate” items for 30+ women (including leopard print, short dresses and oversized sunglasses. Yes, really). It was so popular that I decided to carry it on weekly where women of all ages link up their fabulous style, never mind what anyone tells them not to wear!
The link up goes live every Tuesday at around 3pm UK time and will stay open for a week. Whilst the original article was of course aimed at the 30+, you can be ANY age to link up. The only prerequisite is that you’re wearing whatever you damn well like!
CLICK HERE to read the rules of linking up (and to grab the #iwillwearwhatilike button). Basically it’s just good manners to link back to here – to leave a comment is even nicer!

PLEASE NOTE: This is for linking up WHAT YOU’VE BEEN WEARING ONLY. Non-outfit links will be removed! Also: by linking up you’re saying it’s okay for me to drop you an email to say the link up is open – you can unsubscribe at any time.
