A New Fitness Regime | I’m Doing The Body Coach 90 Day Shift, Shape & Sustain Plan

Today is 25th September – that means Christmas is exactly three months away… How scary is that thought?! (I’m so sorry for pointing it out!)

It’s pretty apt however, as today I’m starting a new fitness programme that I’ve invested in: The Body Coach 90 Day SSS (Shift, Shape and Sustain) Plan. (Yes, the #notlambFIT programme that stalled abysmally sometime earlier this year is back on track as part of my recent “I’m back” drive.)

For those of you that don’t know Joe Wicks A.K.A. The Body Coach, he started off as something of an Instagram sensation and has been on my radar for a few months now. I’d been intrigued about his methods since having a bit of a read of his book Lean in 15: 15-Minute Meals and Workouts to Keep You Lean and Healthy that my niece had for her birthday. His recipes all looked so delicious (and it didn’t hurt that he was somewhat easy on the eye, though not quite so easy on the ear #sorryJoe).

“JOE’S PHILOSOPHY TO HEALTH AND FITNESS IS SIMPLE. FUEL YOUR BODY WITH LOTS OF FOOD AND CONCENTRATE ON CORRECTLY TIMING YOUR MACRONUTRIENTS TO ENSURE YOUR BODY BURNS FAT, INCREASES IN ENERGY AND TRANSFORMS YOU INTO THE SHAPE OF YOUR LIFE”

– The Body Coach

His website says “Using Instagram, Joe created Leanin15 as a way of both showcasing some of the food contained within his meal plan and to inspire people to take control of their diet with quick, fun and easy cooking. Joe’s philosophy to health and fitness is simple. Fuel your body with lots of food and concentrate on correctly timing your macronutrients to ensure your body burns fat, increases in energy and transforms you into the shape of your life.”

So why did I choose to go ahead and buy this plan?

Due to various factors the fitness programme I was hell bent on following over the summer kinda went into reverse (and some of you may have read my post about what to do when none of your clothes fit you any more) due to various factors: My woes over my financial affairs, a lot of birthday parties in our family, my sister coming to visit from Australia, eating out… All these things added up to a lot of eating, a bit more drinking, and not enough exercise. Yep, I’m as human as the next cake-and-chocolate-loving woman!

Once the financial situation had been (partially) rectified, I decided to take action and invest in The Body Coach plan because I’m the sort of person that sticks to something far better if I have a deadline to stick to or a goal to aim for – or a RECEIPT that says I paid hard cash for the damn thing – to incentivise me…!

So what’s the SSS Plan all about?

I haven’t yet read the whole thing in full as there’s so much of it, but I really like what I’ve read so far. You sign up on The Body Coach website for the 90 day plan and they give you the most in-depth questionnaire ever – it took me the best part of an hour to fill it out. Plus (and this may fill you with horror but it makes perfect sense) you have to upload pictures of yourself in underwear to be able to compare yourself before and after. I’m hating it now, but I know I’ll be glad that I’ll see progress right before my eyes. (I damn well hope I will, anyway!)

Once you’ve done all that, about five days later you’re sent a personalised eating and exercise plan based on all the questions you answered about your height, weight, age, lifestyle, general health, eating habits, current fitness levels – everything. You also get your own online coach to support you along the way.

ALTHOUGH IT SOUNDS A LOT OF MONEY, I CONSIDER IT FAR, FAR CHEAPER THAN HAVING TO GO OUT AND BUY A WHOLE NEW WARDROBE

The plan costs £147 for the three months (or you can pay £49 a month). Although it sounds a lot of money, I consider it far, far cheaper than having to go out and buy a whole new wardrobe, which is what I know I’d be having to do once I get my box of autumn/winter clothes out and start trying everything on.

Believe me, nothing is going to fit… Not right now, anyway – but I vow that that will change!

Really that’s all I can tell you at the moment about the plan, but I will of course be giving updates as to how I’m getting on, how I’ve found it and what my progress has been. The recipes all look so incredibly tasty so I cannot wait to try them, and to be honest I do enjoy exercise – I’d be happy to do far more than the 25 minutes a day he recommends (I can’t see how that’ll be enough but I’ve put my trust in him).

I’ve read so many good things about his plan and how it’s transformed people’s bodies. I simply want to get fit, be healthier and fit into my clothes again. I consider £147 a pretty good bargain if it does all those things for me… We shall see!

HAVE YOU OR ANYONE YOU KNOW TRIED THE BODY COACH SSS PLAN? WHAT WERE YOUR/THEIR RESULTS? TELL ME IN THE COMMENTS OR TWEET ME @NOTLAMB, I’D LOVE TO KNOW!
