How to Style Boyfriend Jeans – With Lace and Summer Sandals #iwillwearwhatilike

I’ve had a bit of a recurring theme this summer: All white (or mostly white) with punches of colour. Although these boyfriend jeans were lemon yellow when I bought them,

they’ve definitely faded to a cream colour – not something I mind. It means I always have a comfy pair of pale, summery jeans to wear: Result!

This week’s #iwillwearwhatilike theme is summer sandals, moved on a week after the washout we had the weekend before. I’m clutching onto the last days of summer – with sandals and white lace – in the hopes that we get an Indian summer come September as this year we’ve pretty much had yet another lousy season. No more than two or three nice days in a row, and that to me doesn’t a summer make.

I’M CLUTCHING ONTO THE LAST DAYS OF SUMMER – WITH SANDALS AND WHITE LACE – IN THE HOPES THAT WE GET AN INDIAN SUMMER COME SEPTEMBER

As you may know from my many posts featuring boyfriend jeans, I’m always looking for new ways to style them. You know what my favourite thing about them is?

SHOP THE LOOK:

It’s the fact that they work with just about every shoe style. So you can always, always dress up a pair of loose fit jeans with a strappy sandal or heels: Roll up the hem to show off some ankle, pick your fave heels and you’re good to go. I added my white lace top (last seen here in my tribute to Madonna at Live Aid outfit!) and my favourite part of the outfit – the choker.

I totally stole the idea from Lisa AKA The Sequinist – it’s actually one of Lizzy O Boutique’s diamante wrap bracelets worn as a choker. I have a few different sizes and they’re the perfect size for your neck as well as your wrist… Who knew that would work so well?!

Thank you for joining the #iwillwearwhatilike link up! This started as a campaign on Instagram in August 2015 where women over 30 wore everything on a journalist’s list of “inappropriate” items for 30+ women (including leopard print, short dresses and oversized sunglasses. Yes, really). It was so popular that I decided to carry it on weekly where women of all ages link up their fabulous style, never mind what anyone tells them not to wear!

The link up goes live every Monday at 3pm UK time and will stay open for a week. Whilst the original article was of course aimed at the 30+, you can be ANY age to link up. The only criteria is that you’re wearing whatever you damn well like!
