12 More Stylish Over 40 Fashion Bloggers You Should Know

Discovering amazing new over 40 fashion bloggers is one of my favourite things ever about blogging – it totally makes my day to find someone I’ve not seen before whose style I find inspiring.

Since my last round up of 40+ fashion bloggers I wrote more than a year ago (where does time go?) I’ve been making a note of all the other fashionistas I wanted to feature in a “part two” of the same post.

There are so many more I could have included, so this won’t be the last feature post about older bloggers – expect a part three, and maybe even a part four in time…!

These women all show that style has nothing to do with age appropriateness – so many of them put together outfits that would suit girls 20, 30 or even 40 years younger than themselves, and they look nothing short of fabulous in their choices. They’re proof that style is ageless, that we don’t have to stop dressing up or having fun with clothes when we reach 40.

You’ll find nearly every type of style included here: Classic, minimalist, creative, preppy, eclectic, romantic, bohemian… The list goes on. Women of any age can take inspiration from these bloggers. Yes, they are all over 40 (some a lot older than that), but their different styles are undoubtedly timeless – and ageless.

So no matter what your age, grab yourself a cuppa and enjoy perusing the blogs of these lovely ladies – you won’t be disappointed!

HAVE YOU FOUND ANY NEW-TO-YOU BLOGGERS THAT YOU’RE NOW TOTALLY OBSESSING OVER? (I HOPE YOU HAVE!) TELL ME IN THE COMMENTS!

1. Kirsten – The LIFB Issue

Kirsten is my absolute style guru – she’s so creative, so colourful, so fun with all her looks that she makes me feel quite unimaginative by comparison. She’s German, but the UK is about to steal her for a while: She’s in the process of moving over here to an area near Liverpool where she will stand out for all the right reasons. All that bold pattern and colour – I die…!

2. Diane – Fashion on the 4th Floor

Diane is quite a new blogger – she started just last year – but she’s already proved she’s a serious fashionista with some of the most gorgeous outfits I’ve ever seen. All long limbs and fabulous hair, she’s sometimes a little sports-luxe, sometimes a little grown-up chic, but she’s always spot-on with dressing her proportions right and looking like she’s been a professional stylist for years.

3. Cla – Glam Up Your Lifestyle

Cla’s style is quite pared-back, but she always dresses with a lot of creativity and clean lines at the same time. I love her accessorising – she’s never without an oversized bag – and she’s fabulous in jeans or leather trousers which she can totally pull off. She’s a great example of clean European chic at its very best.

4. Samantha – Fake Fabulous

Where do I start with the fabulous Samantha – her creativity knows no bounds! She breaks every style rule there is (quite right, too) and surprises me with each and every new outfit, making them look fun and stylish and so her. As a Scot she dresses for cold weather most of the year, and that’s probably contributed to her mastery of layering. Her writing is also fantastic – she muses on fashion and style with nearly every post, her blog is well worth a thorough read.

5. Ann – Kremb de la Kremb

One of my long-term blogging buddies, Ann is an American living in Hong Kong whose inspiration seems to come from anywhere and everywhere. Not afraid to wear daring and unexpected combinations, she’ll rock a midi skirt with sneakers one day then throw on leather trousers with heels the next. Oh, and you’ll not find someone with a more gorgeous smile or more enthusiasm for blogging than Ann – make friends with this lovely lady and you’ve a friend for life.

6. Michelle – Michelle Tyler

Previously RetroChicMama, Michelle’s style does exactly what it (used to) say on the tin: Grown-up clothes for a stylish mum with a touch of retro thrown in. Taking just the key elements of retro style (flares, tailoring, muted colours), she puts them all together in such a way that looks city-chic and very European. She’s Australian but her experiences of living and travelling for many years in Europe have clearly rubbed off on her – her style is like a perfect melting pot of British, French and Italian with just a smidgen of laid-back Australian flair.

7. Amanda – The Online Stylist

Amanda is a queen of minimalism and chic neutrals. Having met and worked with her on a campaign that involved shopping for our favourite pieces at Marks & Spencer, I know for a fact that she favours monochrome, denim and cashmere on a big scale. The way she puts them together is never boring, however – she always chooses quality pieces that have interesting details and a lot of texture. Like her Instagram feed, and despite being British, she perfectly sums up Scandi-cool – so different to my own all-over-the-place style, but I love her and admire her all the more for it.

8. Beth – Style at a Certain Age

Beth is effortlessly stylish. She has that same air of grace and elegance that ex-models have, with the bone structure and beautiful silver hair to match. Her wardrobe reflects both the San Francisco weather and her sense of fun, all with a gorgeous dollop of preppy style thrown in. She’s the perfect example of how age doesn’t stop you being stylish or picking the on-trend pieces that work with your already-defined style.

9. Jess – Elegantly Dressed & Stylish

Jess couldn’t have picked a more apt name for her blog – she truly is elegantly dressed with a very distinctive romantic style. Lace, gorgeous knits and tweeds feature heavily in her outfits and she’s a fan of retro styles, especially the 1920s. With her beautiful red hair, green understandably looks incredible on her, yet she also looks stunning in blush pink and every autumnal colour going.

10. Dorrie – Senior Style Bible

If you’ve not come across Dorrie before, you will probably need to sit down when I tell you how old she is: I’m not kidding when I say she is 81. Yes, you read that right – EIGHTY ONE. I would say she is one of the most stylish octogenarians out there, but that would do her a disservice: She’s one of the most stylish bloggers out there – full stop. Age has nothing to do with Dorrie’s style – she wears what she wants, what suits her and boy, does she wear some incredibly creative outfits. One of my absolute faves who always makes me gasp when I see a new look from her. Off-the-scale inspirational.

11. Debbie – Fashion Fairy Dust

Debbie’s style is probably closest to my own: Creative, but also quite eclectic. She favours pattern-mixing, tomboy-style (she rocks a boyfriend jean), a little bohemian-chic – and puts them altogether in a very inspiring way that’s also very pinnable. You can’t fail to notice her stunning gold and copper ombre hair: It’s a work of art. Again, it’s refreshing to find a blogger who breaks all the style rules and really does her own thing so wonderfully.

12. Carmen – Cocoolook

Last but not least – the enigmatic Carmen. Another blogger whose age you won’t believe (not just over 40 but over 50 – how?!) – she looks like the fashion editor of a European fashion magazine (not surprising considering she’s Spanish). Her creativity and love of beautiful prints, textures and colour is very, very Euro-chic, and I’ve yet to see an outfit from her that makes me think it’s just “okay” – we’re talking implausibly stylish every. Single. Time.
