They said I could buy something of my choice and wear to show you guys – I hope you love this yellow cocktail dress as much as I do!
I did cheat a little and actually bought something that was £50, but I absolutely fell in love with this dress – and to be honest I would have happily paid a lot more than £50 for it. To me it smacks of a designer label, and the unusual design with the loose back and high/lo hemline is stunning, and surprisingly flattering. As it’s now December, I can’t wait to wear this beauty to a Christmas party – it’s also going to be the perfect dress for a smart summer wedding.

Zalando has only launched recently in the UK; they sell women’s clothes, shoes and accessories, plus sportswear, menswear, childrenswear and beauty. As someone who shops almost exclusively online, I think it’s the closest thing to ASOS I’ve found yet, and that’s probably the biggest endorsement I can give any online retailer.
Another thing I find really important when shopping online is to be able to sort by size, brand, colour and price, and Zalando allows you to refine your results by all those categories. And although there’s a lot of designer labels at prices to match, the range of reasonably-priced items is huge, so you wouldn’t have to worry about finding something if you’re on a tight budget.
The only thing I found a little disappointing was that delivery, although free, is 3-5 working days as standard, with no option for next day delivery. Not so good, then, if you decide you need a party dress on a Friday morning for the weekend – but overall they really impressed me, enough to go back and shop there when I need something specific. In fact, I placed another order just yesterday…!
So is Zalando my new ASOS? It’s pretty close!
