best of the blogosphere

17 Unmissable Reads, the Best of the Blogosphere (April 2019)

In my Best of the Blogosphere this month I have swimsuits for soft, curvy bodies (on a soft, curvy body!), the funniest Photoshop “fails”, your outfit as a ghost and more!

(In case you’ve not seen these posts before my Unmissable Reads are a monthly round-up of things I’ve seen, watched and liked in the blogosphere that I’m sure you’ll love too.)

Dare I say I think this may be my best Best of the Blogosphere post to date? Not that I had anything to do with the greatness of these posts, they’ve all been written by some very, very talented content creators. Every month I can never fail to be impressed by how much fantastic stuff gets published on the interwebs for our amusement, inspiration and our thirst for knowledge!

I’ve got examples of the best of British humour. I’ve got top tips for a happy life. I’ve got posts about Instagram to make you stop worrying about Instagram.

And I’ve got beautiful, diverse women coming out of my ears (if that’s not too weird an analogy)!

Do have a read of these great links – you never know who or what you might discover that makes your day/week/month!

I’m so glad that Instagram eyebrows seem to be on their way out (rejoice!) – brushed up, soapbrows (à la Sophia Loren) are being seen more and more.

Don’t say I didn’t warn you: You may not be able to stop laughing at this clip of 80s-tastic fitness movie ‘Perfect’ with a hip-thrusting Jamie Lee Curtis and John Travolta.

I have a lot of pigmentation on my face, so Michelle’s top 7 products to treat hyperpigmentation post was brilliant (the results she got are nothing short of amazing).

It’s in Twitter threads like this that I LOVE the British public and their sense of humour: Parents – beware what they’re teaching kids in schools these days…

“820 days. 2 years and 3 months.” That’s how long Annie has wanted to be a mum – her story is honest and raw.

Alison has not only researched but she’s also modelled the best swimwear for “soft, curvy bodies” – she looks amazing in all of them (her being over 40 kinda has nothing to do with it, but you should know that she is).

Everything that Ashley learnt from losing a 15.8k Instagram account and having to start again from scratch.

10 things you need to know to be happier, healthier and wealthier – Kirsty’s tips are all clever, practical and inspirational.

“If I die today am I happy with this outfit as my ‘forever’ outfit?” – Samantha brilliantly discusses 8 steps to unique and effortless chic, including what would be your “ghost outfit”.

Top fashion blogger Krystal shares her 6 tips for a trip with your girlfriends, and it’s SO refreshing to see a line up of incredibly diverse, fascinating women who are not all Instagram clones.

Lizzy puts forward the case for wearing raspberry pink eyewear – when they look this good I’m not arguing.

I laughed SO much at these purposely-bad photoshopped images that Keith thought I was having a fit: Guy who takes Photoshop requests literally hilariously strikes again (don’t say I didn’t warn you).

Stella discusses the top 5 fashion trends you should try this spring: I’m with her on the pearl hair clips (mine were ordered today).

I was ALWAYS a fan of the polka dot dress Julia Roberts wore in Pretty Woman, so I loved Annette’s top with trousers version.

Fatima proves why she won the Lifestyle category in the UK Blog Awards with this fabulous piece on joining the “fashion revolution” (kudos for referring to H&M as “Hennes” as I still often do these days).

And likewise, Lisa proves why she won the Fashion category at the UK Blog Awards with a SUPERB piece of writing about her lust for a sparkly raincoat, AKA her “ideal sartorial cocktail”.

The Instagram algorithm really doesn’t matter in 2019 – Dania explains why it’s NOT out to get you or destroy your business.

And a few Not Dressed As Lamb posts you perhaps missed first time around:
