Layered Roses Dress | Valentine’s Day Date Night Outfit

I’m not normally one for Valentine’s Day, but if there’s ever a chance to get dressed up in a feminine outfit that screams “LOVE ME!” then this outfit is the one for me. Typically, however, I haven’t gone full out girly love hearts and head-to-toe-red for 14th February, but instead I went against the grain a little and added plenty of black, grey and some layering. And trousers (what a rebel).

Thanks to La Redoute’s #LaRomance campaign (read more about that below) I’ve been inspired to get my romance on and come up with what would be my perfect Valentine’s Day date night outfit. February is far too cold for bare legs, so I layered this gorgeous over some cropped black trousers and added killer heels (of course). The is also from La Redoute (it has an optional shoulder strap) and adds the right amount of red without it getting into Valentine’s kitsch territory… thank goodness!

I must mention the gold cuff: it’s made by eco brand Emi & Eve – not only is it called the Love Cuff, but as with all their jewellery and metal clutches it’s forged out of recycled Cambodian war remnants (bomb casings and bullet shells in other words). They’re then hand crafted into beautiful pieces of jewellery or metal clutches… such a wonderful idea. Do pop over and check them out, the pieces are gorgeous.

Are you getting dressed up and going out for Valentine’s Day – do share what you’re wearing if so! Or do you not celebrate it? If you’re a singleton and planning something alternative for Saturday I’d love to know about it so please do share in the comments!

#LaRomance competition

Do you have a romantic story to tell that will rival the French for romance? If so, La Redoute want to hear it! They’re holding a competition in association with www.mylittlebox.co.uk – a monthly gift subscription service where you receive a lovely box of surprises every month like must-have beauty products, fashion and lifestyle accessories, illustrated goodies by Kanako, etc. They already have 80,000 subscribers in France, and we all know how stylish the French are, don’t we…?

There are three one-year subscriptions to win on their Share the Love to Win With My Little Box competition – all you have to do is head over to their Facebook page and share your most romantic story to rival the French for romance. I think it’s a lovely idea and to win a year’s subscription to My Little Box would be a fantastic prize. For all the details go to:

Good luck!

I am a brand ambassador for La Redoute after winning a competition to find two bloggers to represent the brand for 2014-15. The prize included a budget to spend at La Redoute each month. All content is original, however, and opinions are my own and 100% honest.
