As today is the first day of winter (in Catherine’s world) I thought I’d bring you a classic winter piece: a cashmere poncho, in the most stunning purple-aubergine colour. It’s a really practical design as well as being gorgeous – it has ribbed sleeves so it’s like wearing a huge sweater… it hangs beautifully, and no cold arms. Believe me when I say this is cashmere at its softest and finest.

I wore the poncho over the weekend with my gold-coloured brocade jeans and leopard print trilby, which complemented the beautifully. It was a chilly but beautiful sunny day; you can see the light of the setting sun in the background of the photos… perfect weather for this outfit. To top it off both the patchwork bag and funky Wolf & Moon earrings picked out the purple and taupe colours – it seems a pretty basic outfit at first but the little details are subtle and add a special something to the poncho/scarf combination without detracting from its cashmere gorgeousness.
