The colour combination that I liked the most were these orange and blue New Balance 574 trainers – however, they are officially men’s shoes but as I have pretty big feet (UK 7), I’ve often shopped in the men’s section of sports shoes because I’m pretty sure there really isn’t any difference except for the sizes compared to the women’s sport shoes. It’s not so good if you have small feet – but then I guess you have the kid’s shoes to shop from, and they’re cheaper too, aren’t they?
Anyway! I’m really glad I went for this colour combination – the blue is gorgeously bright and of course they’re super comfortable. (One thing to note: if you’re buying New Balance trainers from the men’s section, go at least one full size up. I went for my normal size and they were really small.) I was pretty unsure at first how to style them… I’ve started with skinny jeans but I’m looking forward to trying different combinations, with may be more of a sports luxe vibe. In the meantime I went with my gingham shirt (thrifted and originally a man’s shirt) and my husband’s bow tie, just to add something a little different. So I am, in fact, wearing three actual pieces of menswear. Taking “masculine chic” to a whole new level, me.
Is there anything from your other half’s wardrobe that you borrow? Or do you buy trainers from either the kid’s section or the men’s section – and have you embraced the coloured sports shoe trend yet? Let me know in the comments!
