I have a thing about yellow dresses – I’m drawn to them like bees round a honey pot. Whenever I see a yellow dress in the shops, or online, or being worn by someone, I’m all over it like a rash. (I’m sure it’s always been because of my obsession with this dress Sandy wore in Grease.) So for my birthday party family gathering round our house last month (described as Afternoon Tea, but was actually Beer & Cake), I wore my new ModCloth Soda Fountain dress and fabulous new strappy grey and gold sandals that were kindly gifted to me by Ravel Footwear, which I love.
I added the grey cropped leggings to hide my less-than-perfect knees (just a personal preference) and keep my legs just warm enough on what was a slightly cooler day. The addition of cropped leggings under shorter dresses was a trend I embraced wholeheartedly when it first appeared several years ago… am I right in saying that this look could be on its way out? I was a bit worried that it’s starting to look a little dated, but unless a look screams “old fashioned” I tend not to give it up if I like it.
What you guys think – yay or nay to the cropped leggings under dresses…?
