I called this post Seventies sunset because the pictures reminded me of the posters and stationery (like bookmarks) you used to get when I was a kid – everything in the Seventies was photographed with horses in cornfields with beautiful sunsets… or at least that’s how I remember it 😉 These pictures were taken last week in the evening of what was probably the most glorious day of the year so far.
We so rarely get proper hot days in Blighty – even more rarely in May – so to spend a relaxed day in the sun was just wonderful. However this actual weekend (as I’m writing) is grey and wet – it’s the Diamond Jubilee/bank holiday weekend so of course the weather is depressing. But it’s lovely to look at these pictures and remember the warmth we were having a week ago…!
I didn’t get to wear this skirt much last year when I bought it, it was just never warm enough. I hope I have few more wears out of it this summer as I love the unusual floral pattern and muted colours. And even though I usually pile on the arm candy come the summer, it was just too hot to wear more than a couple of watches and rings with a long gold knotted necklace.
If you’re still on holiday for a couple of days you’re probably British and enjoying a Jubilee weekend, but Happy Monday to everyone, whatever you’re doing!
