If you want something that’s comfy, won’t show up too much mess from cooking (or eating!) Christmas dinner and will actually hide your inevitable food baby (all round Christmas dinner-friendly, in other words) – you’re in the right place. I’ve picked out 18 dresses that will hide that turkey, mince pies and Terry’s Chocolate Orange-induced bloat that we all want to hide.
And if you really go casual on Christmas Day, why not think about these for New Year? Many of us also over-indulge on that night too, though if you’re anything like me then you will have probably been eating an average of 8,000 calories on every day from Christmas to New Year, so a comfy dress would be most welcome…!
I’ve chosen dresses that would be super comfy, so either a loose fit, a wrap or something with a belt that can be loosened (probably the most important feature of anything you plan to wear on Christmas Day).
And I’ve gone for prints (that won’t show up gravy spillages or melted chocolate) or dark colours… I know I don’t “do” black very often but there are some very stylish LBDs here. They’ll all be suitable for parties at other times too – just add some fabulous jewellery or funky shoes and you’re all set.
If you look at some of them and think they may be too short for you, then why not do as I do and layer a short dress over cropped trousers or skinnies that have some stretch in them?
Enjoy!
