I hadn’t yet shown you what I wore to dinner to celebrate my birthday and blogiversary – I’ve been so busy with #iwillwearwhatilike that I’m a little behind with outfit posts. Better late than never.
As you may have seen last week I’m obsessing over Marks & Spencer right now – this is yet another outfit featuring two pieces from their current collection. The black and white stripe maxi skirt is so comfortable (elasticated waistband, a lifesaver for an evening meal) and super-flattering, and the orange strappy heels are possibly my favourite shoes in the whole of my shoe collection right now. I’m talking grab-them-if-the-house-was-burning-down love them.
It was a very warm evening so all I needed was a simple black tank (I don’t wear black often, it’s more of a ‘going out’ colour for me), and I added a ruffled collar I bought in the Asos sale earlier this year (but never worn). It’s sadly long since sold out, but I do like this faux pearl illusion collar they have right now – perfect if all the ruffles aren’t really for you. It was one of those weird purchases I wasn’t really sure if I liked it or, more to the point, whether I would ever actually wear it. Thank goodness I did keep it because it gave this outfit the perfect finishing touch it needed.
So a perfect outfit for wearing to go out to dinner – thank goodness for elasticated waistbands, I say…! What have you worn lately out to dinner or on a date night?
