And although I tend to have a lot of shoes in a lot of different colours, I rarely buy really flashy shoes or anything with too much embellishment; I’m afraid I’ll wear them once and never again because they’re just too sparkly. But that’s where shoe clips come in – I always thought they were a thing from years gone by and that no one makes them any more. I was pleasantly surprised to find out they are still available… who’d have known!
I was contacted by shoe designers Elegant Steps who sell bridal and occasion wear shoes, and although I didn’t have a wedding or similar coming up, I was really interested to see they stocked a huge range of shoe clips. They have loads of clips in all different styles (crystal, fabric bows, vintage style, etc.) that are the perfect addition to any of your shoes to give them that little bit of bling.
Admittedly you have to be careful not to bash your shoes around or knock the clips as they will ping off, but the clip doesn’t mark them at all (which was what I was a little worried might happen). I went for the ‘nude’ colour crystal shoe clips which I thought would work with just about every colour shoes I have – and they do. Dead pretty and so easy: sparkle heaven!
Do you have any date night outfit tricks to zhuzh up what you’re wearing? Or have I surprised you with the fact that shoe clips are still made and available to buy… Do let me know in the comments!
