Reiss Neon Skinnies & The Perfect White Shirt

Yesterday’s post featured all the lovely clothes I tried on at the Reiss Spirit of Summer Event I attended the other week – and as promised here’s the outfit I saved till today to show you: neon yellow skinny jeans and what I’ve come to call The Perfect White Shirt. I tried them on as an outfit in the store and they looked so great together, they didn’t need much extra styling!

I’ve been trying to find the ultimate white shirt for a while, and I came to the conclusion that to find the perfect one I’d had to be prepared to spend a bit of money on it to ensure I got good quality, fit and style. All the white shirts I’ve bought before have either not lasted, didn’t have a very good collar, were too tight around the bust, or all of the above. So when I saw this one with its substantially high collars and covered buttons – such a bonus under a fine knit when any little bumps from buttons show through – I prayed it would fit well, and thankfully it did!

The neon jeans were the item I was a little hesitant about colour-wise, but I got a big thumbs up when I came out the changing room so that was decision made. They’re exceptionally bright even by my standards (I think they’d qualify as “highlighter yellow”), but they are so great for spring and might stop me wearing my white jeans every. single. day…!

So with a little bling, blue shoes and blue belt to add a contrasting bold colour to the mix (the blue does stop it all looking too insipid), it’s a definite preppy-with-a-twist look that I tend to gravitate towards.
