A little earlier than planned, here’s some red and pink Valentine’s Day inspiration for you.
[Reading time: 2 mins]
Due to another overly wet weekend, outfit photos unfortunately did not happen… enter my go-to back up plan: Trawl the Archives! And what’s coming up soon? Valentine’s Day, of course (already, I hear you cry?? That’s what I always think at this time of year too).
Although we don’t really “do” Valentine’s Day (well, we don’t do it at all to be fair), I am very fond of red and pink. Sometimes together, sometimes on their own, sometimes with other colours. But none of these outfits are over love-sy or heart-sy, just good old fashioned pink and/or red.
And yes, I’ve found some fabulous red and pink items to shop if you fancy getting something V-Day trad for the 14th February. And I know I said no heart prints, but I may just have sneakily slipped in a couple of heart-shaped items for you ♡
Because it wouldn’t be Valentine’s without something heart-shaped, would it?!

I’ve grouped the outfits into red dresses, pink/red suits and jumpsuits and pink and/or red separates. But pleeeeeeease don’t come knocking on my door when your wallet starts moaning and groaning at you… I want nearly everything I’ve featured too! Must. Resist. At. Least. Some. Of. It.
Tell me in the comments what you’ll be wearing on Valentine’s Day – or tell me if you don’t celebrate it all like Keith and I…!

P.P.S. Do add your outfits to this week’s link up – and if you’ve added a link to here or my button to your post you may be featured in my bi-monthly Women Who Wear What They Like post!
The classic red dress (or not so classic)…
You just can’t have a Valentine’s day spesh without featuring red dresses (I was surprised I have this many). Go for something patterned if you don’t want to do the head-to-toe red thing.
Fabulous red dresses for you to shop…
A pink or red trouser suit or jumpsuit
A red or pink suit is the BEST. Pair a red suit with pink, and vice versa. Or just throw in some yellow, orange or contrast with bright white.
Pink and red trouser suits (or jumpsuits) for you to shop…
Pink and/or red separates
I just adore all the warm colours, and pink and red look SO good together. Mix and match your pink and red separates, layer dresses over trousers, wear just one item from your pink and red arsenal. It’s all good.
Pink and red separates for you to shop…
Red accessories (bonus round!)
Even if you don’t go all-out with the red for your outfit, a touch of red and/or pink with accessories is always fun.

Pin for later!

Thank you for joining the #iwillwearwhatilike link up!
This started as a campaign on Instagram in August 2015 where women over 30 wore everything on a journalist’s list of “inappropriate” items for 30+ women (including leopard print, short dresses and oversized sunglasses. Yes, really). It was so popular that I decided to carry it on weekly where women of all ages link up their fabulous style, never mind what anyone tells them not to wear!
The link up goes live every Tuesday at around 3pm UK time and will stay open for a week. Whilst the original article was of course aimed at the 30+, you can be ANY age to link up. The only prerequisite is that you’re wearing whatever you damn well like!
Click here to receive an email reminder for the next #iwillwearwhatilike link up as soon as it’s live!
Linking up etiquette…
CLICK HERE to read the rules of linking up (and to grab the #iwillwearwhatilike button). Basically it’s just good manners to link back to here – to leave a comment is even nicer!

PLEASE NOTE: This is for linking up WHAT YOU’VE BEEN WEARING ONLY. Non-outfit links will be removed! Also: by linking up you’re saying it’s okay for me to drop you an email to say the link up is open – you can unsubscribe at any time.

Thank you so much Soma! ❤️
Catherine you have such a good eye for bold color combinations. All of these outfits are lovely!
My husband and I don’t really celebrate any holidays, because we do what we want when we want. And certainly don’t need a special day for declaring our love. It’s something we show each other everyday.
Wonderful post!

What a beautiful post, Catherine! You are so gorgeous through the years (including now) 😉 This is encouragement for the shopping diet that I need to be on for at least 6 months. Time to work those red & pink beauties lurking in my closet!

What a beautiful post, Catherine – you are so gorgeous through the years! I’m on a shopping diet until mid-summer at least – this is good inspiration. I’m going to get some inspiration out of those red & pink beauties hanging in my closet…
I love it all, Catherine! I used to hate getting all kitschy with holiday dressing, but lately I started just having fun with it. Because why the heck not! Always a fan of a gorgeous red dress, I love all of yours. And that pink and yellow lacy number is AMAZING!

Yeah, why NOT wear All The Reds And Pinks in February, Shelbee…?!! Thank you, I’m working my way towards getting back into that yellow and pink dress… hopefully soon! x
Some super looks – I love the pink trouser suit! Makes me almost want to ‘do’ Valentine’s Day!
Author
Thanks Gail – I still love that suit, it’s such a pretty pink x
I’m so glad to see you style these colors Catherine. I was just perusing some heart print things (because our anniversary is Valentine’s day) and then I realized I don’t NEED another piece of clothing. I can celebrate this way instead.

There are a lot of outfits here that I love Catherine! That cream suit for starters. The weather has been bad here too! So many bad hair days! xx

Thanks Laurie (it’s actually a pale pink suit) – and yes, the weather has been awful. Worst (wettest) winter I can ever remember 🙁
