Understated Red and Pink Valentine's Day Looks (Not a Heart Print in Sight!) | Not Dressed As Lamb

A little earlier than planned, here’s some red and pink Valentine’s Day inspiration for you.

[Reading time: 2 mins]

Due to another overly wet weekend, outfit photos unfortunately did not happen… enter my go-to back up plan: Trawl the Archives! And what’s coming up soon? Valentine’s Day, of course (already, I hear you cry?? That’s what I always think at this time of year too).

Although we don’t really “do” Valentine’s Day (well, we don’t do it at all to be fair), I am very fond of red and pink. Sometimes together, sometimes on their own, sometimes with other colours. But none of these outfits are over love-sy or heart-sy, just good old fashioned pink and/or red.

And yes, I’ve found some fabulous red and pink items to shop if you fancy getting something V-Day trad for the 14th February. And I know I said no heart prints, but I may just have sneakily slipped in a couple of heart-shaped items for you ♡

Because it wouldn’t be Valentine’s without something heart-shaped, would it?!

I’ve grouped the outfits into red dresses, pink/red suits and jumpsuits and pink and/or red separates. But pleeeeeeease don’t come knocking on my door when your wallet starts moaning and groaning at you… I want nearly everything I’ve featured too! Must. Resist. At. Least. Some. Of. It.

Tell me in the comments what you’ll be wearing on Valentine’s Day – or tell me if you don’t celebrate it all like Keith and I…!

You just can’t have a Valentine’s day spesh without featuring red dresses (I was surprised I have this many). Go for something patterned if you don’t want to do the head-to-toe red thing.

Not Dressed As Lamb #iwillwearwhatilike link up

Thank you for joining the #iwillwearwhatilike link up!

This started as a campaign on Instagram in August 2015 where women over 30 wore everything on a journalist’s list of “inappropriate” items for 30+ women (including leopard print, short dresses and oversized sunglasses. Yes, really). It was so popular that I decided to carry it on weekly where women of all ages link up their fabulous style, never mind what anyone tells them not to wear!

The link up goes live every Tuesday at around 3pm UK time and will stay open for a week. Whilst the original article was of course aimed at the 30+, you can be ANY age to link up. The only prerequisite is that you’re wearing whatever you damn well like!

Click here to receive an email reminder for the next #iwillwearwhatilike link up as soon as it’s live!

Catherine you have such a good eye for bold color combinations. All of these outfits are lovely!

My husband and I don’t really celebrate any holidays, because we do what we want when we want. And certainly don’t need a special day for declaring our love. It’s something we show each other everyday.

    Wonderful post!
