16 Unmissable Reads, The Best of the Blogosphere (January 2018)

Unmissable Links to Read: The Best of the Blogosphere (January 2018)

In my Best of the Blogosphere this month I have beating the January blues, Golden Globes-inspired outfits, the importance of staying young (without being old) and more!

(In case you’ve not seen these posts before my Unmissable Reads are a monthly round-up of things I’ve seen, watched and liked in the blogosphere that I’m sure you’ll love too.)

A week earlier this month as I’m scheduling this in advance (I’m either at home recuperating after my operation or I’m stuck in hospital for a few days as the keyhole surgery turned to major surgery, I’m writing this the weekend before and we don’t know which way it’ll go) – it was a post I had mostly written up as December’s Best of the Blogosphere was early too. Back to the fourth Wednesday of the month from next month!

On Friday I’ll write about the operation and how it went, so many of you have been asking me to keep you updated (which is so lovely and I thank you).

Do have a read of these great links – you never know who or what you might discover that makes your day/week/month!

Why it’s SO important to stay young and how to do it without being “old”.

The most eye-watering beautiful rainbow-bright sequin midi skirt.

“If you don’t like what someone says or does then don’t do anything other than strive to be better than that.” It’s heartening to know people DO learn from their mistakes after being involved in a Twitter drama.

For some of the most stylishly creative outfits that are TOTALLY wearable, check out Carelia’s 2017 amazing outfit round up.

It may be flexible and truly empowering, but it can also be exhausting and overwhelming – Vicki explains how to handle working online (without sacrificing your sanity or health).

I love velvet and I love kimonos, so Annette in a sumptuous velvet kimono is a sight for sore eyes.

Michelle is greeting the New Year without regrets, and so should we.

“My word for 2018 might be BELIEVE”. If you’re thinking of making a career change or going back to your studies in your 40s or later, it’s never too late to believe you can do it – and then do it.

This is EXACTLY the kind of outfit I want to be wearing all winter long: layers upon layers of stunning red, pink, orange and brown.

If John Hughes were making Pretty in Pink now in 2018, this rock n roll boho look is just what the costume designer would be dressing Molly Ringwald in.

A few simple, but wonderful, ways to beat the January blues.

Liz wrote the MOST poignant, inspiring post about her hopes for 2018 and the rest of her life.

Easy peasy DIY tassel earrings? Yes please.

Hot on the heels of all the ladies in black at the Golden Globes, here are 6 all-black winter outfits to try.

Keit was a super crazy creative blogger who I thought had stopped blogging, but she’s back and rocking a transparent raincoat and pink glitter dress. I heart.

A wonderful review of a charming British bolthole in Cumbria (the food looks to die for).

Such a poignant & timely post from Samantha. I’m reeling from the awful news that Dolores O’Riordan has died. Probably my most played CD ever is The Cranberries No need to Argue. In the ninties it could be classed as my generations anthem album.
On an upnote I’m totally stoked to see Keit is back in the Blogosphere! I have genuinely missed this firecracker blogger & advise everyone to go read her snappy repartee now!

I only just found out about Dolores today, MT… SO sad!! And just about my age too

I knew you’d be pleased about Keit making a comeback as I remember you nominating her in my great bloggers post – so good to see her back isn’t it?!

    • 18 January 2018 / 7:47 am

Thirded re: Dolores. Such a shame.

So Sad Michelle… it seems like yesterday that I was singing along and dancing barefoot.

Everything IS okay Catherine – I wrote this post last Sunday so it was before my op and I didn’t know how it was going to go…! πŸ™‚

Glad you love Michelle’s blog, as do I – buying three hotels is kind of amazing but she’ll be so great at it!!
