Wishing You a Happy Christmas! A Thank You to All My Readers

Merry Christmas from Not Dressed As Lamb, over 40 style blog

A little earlier today as this is my last post before Christmas – wishing you all much love and happiness for the festive break!

The image you see here is one Keith and I used on or Christmas card several years ago. Pre 2011, before I started the blog (oh, what carefree days), I had what is known as “free time” and I used to design and make ALL my own Christmas and birthday cards. Unfortunately the blog has meant that I barely have the time to write them anymore, never mind make them. But I’m not complaining – the blog has brought much greater opportunities than my original plan of having a handmade greetings cards empire ever would have…!

(By the way in case you’re wondering: Yes, that IS us, both aged about 5. And no, we didn’t have our photo taken together…)

So I wanted to thank you for all your support and fantastic comments over the past year – a year that has seen Not Dressed As Lamb go from strength to strength and I couldn’t have done it without you (without readers and their engagement there IS no blog, am I right?).

What to expect from the blog in January and the rest of 2018

The year will start as always with my Annual Bloopers and Outtakes post on 1st January… do NOT miss it, it’s probably my best work of the whole year 😆

I’m then taking what will (hopefully!) be a short break in January which I’ll explain in next Friday’s link up post – don’t worry, normal service will resume on the blog with regular posting during that time.

I’m hoping to make 2018 an easier year workload-wise compared to 2017. This year was an absolutely CRAZY year and I’ve never worked such long hours for so long in all my life. I hope to be able to take on less (but hopefully more lucrative!) jobs next year so that I can dedicate more time to reply to comments and post things on social media. Both things have gone by the wayside this year because I was working till 1am every night and then realised I’d not had time to do either yet again (the same goes for sending out regular newsletters).

I want that to change next year.

And you never know, if I make it onto the UK Blog Awards shortlist for a fourth year in a row then I’ll have to top not only the vintage 70s gown and the fairy princess outfit, but also this year’s red bombshell dress that was my “winning dress” in April. (I’m not sure it can be done.)

But in order to be shortlisted, I need your votes please…!

Last call for votes in the UK Blog Awards nominations

And finally, if you haven’t already, PLEASE vote for Not Dressed As Lamb to make the shortlist in the UK Blog Awards! VOTING CLOSES TONIGHT at midnight UK time:

Could you spare 20 seconds to vote for me in the UK Blog Awards please…?

Happy Christmas darling girl, and I do hope we see each other in 2018. I am also taking it easier next year, for completely different reasons. Nothing bad, all good. Just want to make health, friends, family & fun a higher priority next year and am sure you understand that one. LOVE the Card, so from me and my little jackadoodle Jack, a VERY Happy Christmas to you and Keith and let us hope 2018 is full of all that we want from life! Much love, Suzi xx

Merry Christmas Catherine and Keith! That photo is fab. You have such a classic 70s hairdo and I can just see Keith whizzing about on a Chopper bicycle.

Well unfortunately I'm having an operation next Friday. Nothing serious but it needs a general anesthetic because teaching Tefl all summer has hurt my vocal chords and they need to have a look. Not looking forward to that much, but who would?

That'll mean Hogmanay celebrations will be curtailed, but we're planning a day out in the early new year. AND my blog is coming! So I'm busy getting things written so I can launch that – and my repaired voice! – with a bang

Merry Christmas Catherine! I sympathize with your feeling exhausted, I also decided to be more selective next year. Quality over quantity 😉 P.S. good luck with the awards, I sure voted for you 🙂 xx
