The Best of the Blogosphere – 14 Unmissable Links (Nov 2016)

The Best of the Blogosphere November 2016: Restyling wedding dresses - Menopause signs - hearing aids - Christmas sweaters - short hair for older women - and more! | Not Dressed As Lamb

My Best of the Blogosphere – Unmissable Links post is a monthly round up of things I’ve seen, watched and liked in the blogosphere that I’m sure you’ll love too.

This month I’m sharing restyled wedding dresses, menopause signs, short hair for older women, bloggers with low esteem – and much, much more.

Do continue to support these blogs/ladies by clicking on these links and leaving a comment or maybe tweeting them, won’t you? I’ve heard a lot of stories about negativity this week so let’s buck that trend and spread some love (I make no apologies for the hippy-ish tones of that request)!

As someone who’s thinking she may be in peri-menopause, this post by Michelle with 8 definite signs you’re in menopause has been eye-opening and super helpful for me.

Amber explains why it might be time to re-think your blog’s homepage – her reasons make absolute sense… I’m on the case.

Leather, lace and velvet isn’t too much – it’s just sassy and stylish – as demonstrated by the wonderfully elegant 50-something Cheryl. [Note to Cheryl: It’s their loss, not yours!]

Wearing glasses can be cool, but women wearing hearing aids aren’t seen the same way. Alyson addresses the subject head-on with a great piece from a 67 year old who’s still enjoying life to the full… with hearing aids.

Not all bloggers are the bold, confident types you think they are – some have crippling self-esteem issues. It broke my heart that Jemma turned down a fantastic opportunity because of her lack of confidence.

Carelia restyled her wedding dress and looks incredible – not a pouffy meringue in sight.

The best of the Over40Collective this month

This is a new section where I share the best post from each member of the O40Co. Enjoy! 😊

If you want pretty underwear for Christmas, Liz has the best lingerie and a brilliant guide for men buying it [hint, hint].

I’m never sure how how I feel about Christmas sweaters, but Nikki’s featured a fantastic selection ranging from sparkly to seasonal to full-on stylish Chrimbo.

With it now being accepted that older women no longer “have” to cut their hair because it’s supposedly age-appropriate [she rolls her eyes ], it’s wonderful to see that Annette has cut her hair short. She looks stunning – and explains why she went for the chop.

Michelle has created the Midlife Survival Rucksack – it’s full of “helpful resources, tricks and tools stuffed with ways to get re-inspired, get some support and get plenty of encouragement to move forward in life”. Even better: It’s totally free.

Lisa looks like a modern-day Hitchcock blonde heroine in black and white french chic – and she’s in Paris. Doesn’t get much more chic than that.

Thanks for alerting me to some truly great articles Catherine. I particularly enjoyed the piece on the perception of hearing aids being unsexy. It hadn't even occurred to me but yes of course they're seen as a disability ugh how ridiculous! More to look forward to as I age.
Well That's me all caught up & thank you so much for featuring my post on Menopause xxx

Read nearly all your links. Thanks. Laughed over the story of the woman with the hearing aid as she said she needed to hear in bed to follow directions. Very good.
