11 More Over 40 Fashion Bloggers With Amazing Style

11 More Over 40 Fashion Bloggers With Amazing Style

I know what you’re thinking: When am I going to get my next fix of fantastically stylish over 40 fashion bloggers?

Well wait no more – the 40 plus woman is going strong in all areas of life, not least fashion blogging! I thought it was time I did yet another round up of all the best older fashion bloggers who blow me away with their amazing personal style. I featured a second round up of over 40 fashion bloggers in February (after the first one in 2014) as there are just so many out there.

I simply got impatient about featuring them as the list keeps longer and longer (I’m glad to say) – this list is not exhaustive!

When I started blogging five years ago I tried very hard to find blogs by older women, and there weren’t many out there – or at least they weren’t getting the recognition they do today, thus making them go under the radar.

I am beyond pleased to see bloggers over 40, over 50, over 60 and older being regularly featured on fashion and style websites. And what’s refreshing is that they’re starting to pop up on lists of “bloggers with amazing style” amongst women of all ages, not just lists of older fashionistas.

11 More Over 40 Fashion Bloggers With Amazing Style Not Dressed As Lamb, over 40 style blog
So this list is of bloggers simply “over” 40, with no age limit. And these women certainly don’t have any limits to their creativity: There are women of all shapes and sizes with wildly different styles – as well as age. The great thing to remember if you’re looking for inspiration is that these are all ordinary women – no celebrities or supermodels – who dress themselves without stylists.

Which is what makes them rather extraordinary, don’t you think…?

Cathy - The Middle Page Blog, over 40 fashion & style blogger

1. Cathy – The Middle Page

I’m a big fan of Cathy’s understated-chic-with-a-twist. Although her style is quite classic and full of neutrals, she’s always got a quirky twist like mannish brogues, a neck bow tie or a fabulous hat. Her outfits are very wearable, very elegant, and have more than a little funk.

Sylvia - Simply Sylvia, over 40 fashion & style blogger

2. Sylvia – Simply Sylvia

I only discovered Sylvia recently – I had to have a lie down after scrolling through her outfits… Can you tell she’s French? Not only French but a Parisienne living in the US, and she has style oozing out of her pores. Having an eye for stylish combinations and beautiful accessories doesn’t even begin to describe how chic she is. I’m still trying to get over that white feather dress with the pearls… just stunning.

Georgette - Grown & Curvy Woman, over 40 fashion & style blogger

3. Georgette – Grown and Curvy Woman

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that “Georgette” is a lot like “Gorgeous” – there couldn’t be a more apt name for this blogger’s love of colour and print. From her infectious smile to her stunning hair, Georgette’s outfits always put a smile on my face (I’m so envious of her skirt and dress collection). A woman who really knows how to dress her shape.

Lisa - The Sequinist, over 40 fashion & style blogger

4. Lisa – The Sequinist

Like Georgette, never was a blogger more aptly named than The Sequinist. Lisa’s love of sequins is all too obvious (that evil eye dress is to-die-for), and she doesn’t save them for the evening, either: Sequins and sparkles abound in her everyday outfits. She has a knack of seeking out wild and creative looks that are all “so Lisa”. A blogger who is now a very good friend of mine IRL, she’s nicknamed Sparkles, and for good reason.

Sheela - Sheela Writes, over 40 fashion & style blogger

5. Sheela – Sheela Writes

First of all I have to mention Sheela’s shoe collection: Probably one of the greatest in the blogosphere. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen her in the same pair twice, and they’re all heels (she told me she has no flats at all. None). Another wildly creative blogger, there is almost no way to describe her style other than it’s a bit sporty, a bit bold, a bit bohemian, a bit colourful, a bit maximalist… Eclectic, in other words, and wonderfully so.

Carelia - My Small Wardrobe, over 40 fashion & style blogger

6. Carelia – My Small Wardrobe

Carelia is a petite blogger who breaks every rule in the book there is for petites. She wears everything she’s supposed to avoid: Maxis, cropped wide leg pants, flats… But she puts her own unique style on everything and just looks incredible. Every. Single. Time. If her fun, bold style doesn’t draw you in, that gorgeous face and beaming smile will.

Emma - Style Splash, over 40 fashion & style blogger

7. Emma – Style Splash

Emma has a wonderful understated elegance that’s punctuated with bright colours, bold patterns and gorgeous accessories (my kind of style). A tall, statuesque redhead, she always adds a fun element to her outfits that at first seem simple, but really are full of interesting details while still being totally wearable.

Jamie - More Than Turquoise, over 40 fashion & style blogger

8. Jamie – More Than Turquoise

I’d describe Jamie’s style as “funky chic”: She rocks a lot of the latest trends (bomber jackets, off the shoulder tops, lace up flats) but wears them in adventurous ways rather than looking like a clone of a Instagram star. She has an eye for great colour combinations and luxury details and is always polished but with a hint of undone-ness (and yes, that’s a real word).

Judith - Style Crone, over 40, over 50, over 60 fashion & style blogger

9. Judith – Style Crone

Ah, Judith – as one of the fabulous Advanced Style fashionistas you’d have to have been living under a rock not to have seen her photos pop up on the interwebs, but that doesn’t mean I shouldn’t celebrate her sartorial fabulousness here. Never without an incredible hat, Judith’s style is grown up elegance and unadulterated fun all rolled into one – she inspires me so much because she looks like she’s playing dress up for grown ups every day. To see her “hat room” would be a truly wondrous sight.

Follow Judith on Instagram: @stylecrone

Lisa - The Silver Stylist, over 40, over 50 fashion & style blogger

10. Lisa – The Silver Stylist

I had a hard job choosing just three outfits from Lisa’s blog – she had an endless stream of bold, fun and inventive combinations (I’ve been taking notes). She doesn’t shy away from pattern, colour or interesting fabrics, and wears ladylike elegance one day followed by tomboy chic the next. And can we just mention the hair? That stunning, rich silver colour is just incredible and makes me rethink my red every time I visit her blog.

Mary - Mary Murnane, over 40 fashion & style blogger

11. Mary – Mary Murnane

With a very pared back, minimal style, Mary is so sophisticated, so chic, and so understatedly glamorous. She’s a big fan of black and white and simple, graphic shapes, and yet she’ll introduce small on-trend details like bell sleeves or a flatform shoe to really elevate her look from nice to wow. When I’m looking for chic, minimal style inspiration, I’ll always look to see what Mary’s wearing.

Catherine, thank you so much for the feature. To be included alongside these creative and gorgeous women is a true honor. At the age of 73, I'm having more fun by the day with style. I am constantly inspired by bloggers like you and the women that you included in this post, as well as many others that I've found over the years. I've been blogging for over six years now, and it's thrilling to to see the increase in over 40 bloggers. Self expression never goes out of "style." Thank you again for all that you do to create community and continurally provide encouragement.

These fashion Blogs are wonderful, but my favourite isn't on the list – and should be! Alternative Ageing is bright and inspirational. As a huge fan of Suzi Grants Blog I would recommend it to all followers of Fashion no matter what age.

    • 1 November 2016 / 1:19 pm

I'm afraid there are only so many I can feature in one post, Twinnie…!! 😉 But I agree, Suzi is fabulous – she's on my Blogroll!

  8. 29 October 2016 / 3:21 am

And, of course, Judith, and it is an amazing honour to be even mentioned in the same breath with these ladies xoxo

When I started three years ago, I had the hardest time finding fashion bloggers over 50 until I found your blog and your lists. I have found so many through your leads and I thank you for that. Over 50 now and still always on the look for fellow bloggers with a passion for the fashion. Thanks for the leads many new ones here

Hi Catherine. I feel very honored to be included in this post. Thanks so much for sharing my style and also for introducing wonderful 40+ bloggers. You and I starting blogging around the same time, therefore, I agree when you said it was hard to find mature bloggers 5 years ago. I'm so glad things are changing and we are also standing out among all fashion bloggers.
Once again, muchas gracias for promoting our style and sharing the love.
    xo

You are so so welcome, Emma!! Glad to have you here! x

  12. 28 October 2016 / 10:32 am

Thank you thank you thank you. So many of the over 40 fashion blogs I have found have been a little mundane/ perfect/ twee for my tastes but these ladies are rocking it.

    • 28 October 2016 / 2:43 pm

Rachel thank you – there are loads of different styles that us over 40s rock but it's good to showcase a variety I think… Hopefully I've come up with a good mixture to appeal to everyone! x

  13. 27 October 2016 / 11:38 pm

    Catherine,
Thank you so much for featuring me on your blog with all these amazing women. I'm in awe of them all….and you too my dear! There are a few I'm not following but that is about ready to change. Thank you again! ❤️❌⭕️

  16. 27 October 2016 / 9:10 pm

Thank you so much for featuring me, Catherine, and it is so weird to be included among some bloggers who I just adore. Almost all of the ones you featured this week (along with Tamera Beardsley) are ones I've followed from before I started blogging. It is weird to be featured alongside them! Still, what a list, and I look forward to checking out the couple I don't know already. I love your inspirational bloggers roundups! xx

  17. 27 October 2016 / 6:53 pm

As a 40 something myself, I'm always happy to see other women in my demographic who love to share their fashion! Thanks for this!
    Lissy (A Girl in Boston)

  18. 27 October 2016 / 6:36 pm

Thanks for these links, Catherine. I am going right now to check out Cathy's blog, The Middle Page. I love the shots you've chosen for her. And for all of the ladies actually. But her look is closest to the way I like to dress in my real life. We're not all comfortable being dramatic, or wildly creative. At least I'm not. Bu that doesn't mean we can't be cool and chic and funky… in an understated way:)

    • 27 October 2016 / 10:55 pm

Susan thank you – hopefully I've included a wide range of differing styles, something for everyone! x

  19. 27 October 2016 / 6:04 pm

You really know how to pick them Catherine!
This is a great list of older women, and it is so nice to see many age groups out in the blogoshpere!

  20. 27 October 2016 / 5:53 pm

Fabulous, and so different from Dutch bloggers amog each other!

    • 27 October 2016 / 10:53 pm

Nancy thank you – I have to admit I didn't know you were Dutch! I've not seen you mention it on your site, though I'm sure you must have at some point…!

  21. 27 October 2016 / 5:46 pm

As a blogger who is nearing closer to this milestone I am thrilled to see more lovely ladies like the ones featured here popping up more regularly on some of my favorite style watch sites. So happy to discover these women through you Catherine!
