The Best of the Blogosphere – 13 Unmissable Links (September 2016)

13 Unmissable Links | The Best of the Blogosphere - September 2016 | Not Dressed As Lamb
My Favourite Fun and Fabulous Links now has a new name: The Best of the Blogosphere – Unmissable Links! It’s still a monthly post of things I’ve seen, watched and liked on the internet, but I’m going to concentrate on what’s been going on in the Blogosphere only. It’s also staying in its current spot of the fourth Wednesday of the month.

This month I’m sharing a refreshingly honest beauty review, posts about travelling solo and taking the controls of a jet plane, notes on older women making waves at Fashion Week and what happens when you get bumped to first class on Emirates.

I’ve loved reading and discovering these blog posts and vlogs – I hope you will too…!

Excellent blog posts to read

Why Hayley decided to travel solo: A scary prospect for many of us, but with many older women being divorced or separated it’s something we shouldn’t just rule out.

I’ve just discovered the amazingly bright, fun and infectious style of Instagrammer @pompadour_vintage – you will love her.

Greetje’s before and after of a woman over 60 is all the proof anyone needs that colourful, stylish clothes and accessories make all the difference as you get older.

Flared sleeves and flared trousers: I love both separately, but together they look amazing on Erica.

Lyn, the incredible 60+ blogger at Accidental Icon, writes about women changing the fashion conversation at Fashion Week… A very thought-provoking post.

At last: A review of a much-hyped beauty product that’s both truthful and entertaining to read.

My fave YouTube video

This YouTube video shows what travelling first class on Emirates is really like, by someone who got a free upgrade (jammy bugger):

The best of The Over 40 Collective this month

Here’s where I share the best post from each member of The O40Co that I’m proud to be part of (see this post for an explanation). Enjoy! 🙂

Michelle’s black chinoiserie midi dress (worn in Paris, no less!) is absolute perfection.

If you aspire to have an adventurous midlife and beyond, you can’t get much better than Michelle doing something that scared her: Having a flight in a jet plane and even taking the controls for a bit.

Annette dresses up her beautiful traditional dirndl every year for Oktoberfest in Bavaria and looks incredible.

This is the epitome of style and elegance: Liz in a Marks & Spencer AW16 Victoriana blouse and wide leg trousers.

I love a casual item with a dressy item, so a sequinned skirt with a grey sweatshirt is right up my style street (go straight to the top of the sartorial class, Lisa).

Inès de la Fressange is one of my style icons (so classy! So French!), so Nikki reviewing Inès’ new collection for Uniqlo is a sight for sore eyes.

Oh this is a surprise. Thank you for linking to my "make down" post. I have been rather unfaithful in commenting lately. Sorry. Life is busy.

Lots of fun things to investigate, thanks Catherine! I rt'ed the youtube vid, that was too funny/would so be how I would behave in first class! Though I would bypass the caviar, tried it once, was not for me! xo

I just want to thank you for continuing to inspire women of every age! I was honored to be included in your swimsuit post…thank you! I believe that we should each wear what makes us happy and be ourselves without worrying about "appropriateness". That's why I love to sew my own clothing…I can make what I want to wear 🙂

I found so many good links… thank you! My favourites of your favourites are Michelle's crane print dress and Annette's drindl, both made me very happy to see.
