Orange Jumpsuit With a Window Pane Check Jacket #iwillwearwhatilike

SS16: Orange short sleeved jumpsuit, black and white window pane check jacket, black pointed toe heels, Aztec-style eagle necklace, colour block bag | Not Dressed As Lamb

This week’s #iwillwearwhatilike theme is dungarees, overalls or jumpsuits – although I’m a big fan of dungarees I thought I’d go with jumpsuits for a change!

My bright orange jumpsuit is by La Redoute and it was one of those items I truly hoped would look as good on me as it did online. Jumpsuits are often hard to get right where fit is concerned – if you’re short or long waisted that can definitely cause you problems. Luckily this fitted me perfectly (I’m long waisted), so I was ecstatic that I could now extend my orange obsession into a head-to-toe orange fest.

As I’m also currently favouring brights with black and white, I wore it with my black and white window pane jacket (similar), rolled up the hems a couple of times (I may take them up) and added black pointed heels. It definitely needed a statement necklace so the Aztec-style eagle necklace got rescued from the potential jewellery decluttering pile and gave the t-shirt style top half of this jumpsuit the oomph it needed.

Despite the usual going-to-the-bathroom hassles jumpsuits create, I wish I had more. I have a grey one from a couple of years ago that’s a bit of a snug fit now (though maybe I should hold onto it if my #notlambFIT journey continues to go well) – they’re the trousers equivalent of a dress: Throw it on, add shoes and you’re dressed.

And really, do we need any more hassle than that… I certainly don’t 😉

Do of course add your outfits to this week’s link up and you may be featured next week if you’ve linked up a jumpsuit or dungarees!

#iwillwearwhatilike | Not Dressed As Lamb
Thank you for joining the #iwillwearwhatilike link up! This started as a campaign on Instagram in August 2015 where women over 30 wore everything on a journalist’s list of “inappropriate” items for 30+ women (including leopard print, short dresses and oversized sunglasses. Yes, really). It was so popular that I decided to carry it on weekly where women of all ages link up their fabulous style, never mind what anyone tells them not to wear!

The link up goes live every Monday at 3pm UK time and will stay open for a week. Whilst the original article was of course aimed at the 30+, you can be ANY age to link up. The only criteria is that you’re wearing whatever you damn well like!

An InLinkz Link-up

PLEASE NOTE
This is for linking up what you’ve been wearing (or would like to wear) only. I like to keep it all looking tidy because I’m a bit of a neat-freak, so non-outfit links will be removed – it’s only fair to others linking up!

Seriousy, there is so much to love about this jumpsuit, first- the bright color is fabulous. Second, it has the perfect sleeve length, for some reason the long ones remind me of something they wear in jails, haha. Third, the fit is perfect!

I think that you look fabulous in that jumpsuit! Gorgeous color and cut. I've been wanting to get a jumpsuit and a romper…I have an idea in my head about a jumpsuit with culottes. The jacket looks great with the jumpsuit too. Very nicely done! #BrilliantBlogPosts

Hi there Catherine! What a sensational jumpsuit! Last June, I went on a bit of a jumpsuit kick posting five different jumpsuits for each Monday in June. I linked them up here.

Thank you for your link up. I always enjoy this opportunity!

I love your hair right now too Catherine.

I'm long waisted so jumpsuits are incredibly hard to find but I would snatch this one up in a heart beat if it fit, you look incredible and I love the addition of a print!

Love the jumpsuit! The colour is gorgeous and looks great with your hair. I have a long torso too so I struggle to find certain garments like jumpsuits and peplum dresses that fit me. I love how you've styled the jumpsuit with the court shoes and windowpane coat 🙂

This may very well be one of my favorite looks of yours. I really love the jacket and how it really pops with your red jumpsuit. Yes, bathrooming issues are a problem, but pick the right occasion to wear it and, boom! Not a problem. By the way, your hair is looking fantastic lady!

  16. 25 April 2016 / 10:53 pm

Chic, sophisticated but still with an element of fun especially with the window pane coat. It's the colour that does it. How fantastic to find one that isn't in the ubiquitous black!
Personally, I can't be doing with jumpsuits or dungers. Yup, it's that whole going to the loo thing I can't abide and being a squiddly dit in height, but curvy petite, they just don't suit me but my hat is off to you for yours!

How amazingly divine is that jumpsuit? Red and slimming and all things nice. BUT could we please pause for a moment to pay homage to your lovely new bangs, Catherine? Ever so pretty 🙂

  19. 25 April 2016 / 6:43 pm

    An orange jumpsuit?
    Yes!!!
Those shoes have lifted it into a real work-appropriate look.
I am sorry to inundate your link with dungarees and jumpsuits…but I do love them.
    Comfortable and effortless.

LOVE the colour on you!! This is gorgeous 😀 I'm definitely more of a jumpsuit kinda gal than dungarees – purely because whenever I've tried on a pair of dungarees in the past, I've always looked well, just wrong 🙁 I'm hoping one of these days, I'll find the one lol!

Fabulous photo's and the jumpsuit looks great. I have found a pic of me in one but I don't think you'll see another as its been relegated to the back of the wardrobe. I much prefer my vintage frocks. Far easier to deal with haha

  22. 25 April 2016 / 5:36 pm

The orange is pow! I love that burst of colour. I'm running late and did my trench post this week, heh. I have a double jumpsuit/onesie photo this week as well. Thanks for hosting, Catherine. Your linkups are affecting my brain – in a good way! Thank you!

  23. 25 April 2016 / 4:11 pm

First of all, I have to say how much I love your new hair colour. It looks fab! The orange jumpsuit is a perfect fit and the colour is great (I so love orange too). The jacket and bag are a touch of class to what's already a very chic ensemble x Thanks again for the opportunity to link up with all these lovely ladies.

Fantastic color! Who dresses to blend in? Not I!

  25. 25 April 2016 / 3:27 pm

Thanks for featuring me. I think your jumpsuit looks more like a top and matching pants than a jumpsuit. You look great in it!

  26. 25 April 2016 / 3:23 pm

Love the color! Rather than your standard black jumpsuit, the orange POPs against your hair , looks great with the windowpane print. I have been looking for this print as I am a fan. Pretty cool necklace too! I shop almost entirely online, but a jumpsuit is what I would have to try on, as it is usually the length that can cause issues.
    Pretty!
thanks for the linkup my friend

WOWZA Catherine, this is such an amazing look on you. The stye, the colour, how it looks with your hair, everything. The colour just sings on you. Now I want one in every colour! xxx

  28. 25 April 2016 / 3:15 pm

This look is simply stunning on you! I love both jumpsuit and overalls (funny because I just posted an outfit in overalls) and both are really great and versatile. But being vertically challenged, overalls gave more options to either lengthen or shorten so it has a slight bit of edge over jumpsuits which don't usually favor short people like me. 🙂

Ooooh…what a nice surprise to see Nancy featured!! Thanks!
What I was going to say before I saw that nice surprise, was geez oh pete!! Between you and Samantha, the pressure to wear a jumpsuit is insurmountable! I promised her we'd try a series on them, and I just found Nancy one that fit, so it'll be coming (end of june if i'm lucky)!!
I do see what you're saying about the one & done thing like a dress—so maybe i'll like them more than i thought! Time will tell!

Dearest Catherine…I think you shall always be my greatest inspiration when it comes to colourful outfit choices!! Who would have thought that a flame-haired gal could wear orange so well?! And a jumpsuit at that?! I've been contemplating the addition of another one-piece to my own wardrobe…and now I'm convinced that I'll have to go bright!! 😉 P.S. I'm still envious of that awesome windowpane-patterned jacket, too!! XOXO

Yep, that going to the loo thing can be a pain ! This is worth the trouble when it looks this good though . I have already linked this jumpsuit on here before so I hope it's ok x

  33. 25 April 2016 / 2:29 pm

Gorgeous color! The jumpsuit looks fantastic on you!

I currently don't own any jumpsuits, but I always remember a purple jumpsuit I owned about 20 years ago. I loved it so much! I'll definitely be interested if I find one that fits me right…

This coral red or ogange is so perfect and chic on you. It enhances your hair so well. Such a delight, dear Catherine

I would love to wear a jumpsuit Catherine, but I can never find one to fit me, (I'm only 5' 1'). I am a bit worried about the whole going to the loo if you're in a hurry issue too.
Yours looks amazing on you, really beautiful colour!

Oh Catherine, I love the color and styling of this jumpsuit on you! I too am a huge fan – but am short waisted. But like dresses, once you find the right fit, jumpsuits are fabulous – they are a dress with legs, the best combo! Your window pane jacket is perfection!
